Marriott Global Marketing collects top honors – Bestowed with 42 Adrian Awards by HSMAI

Company recognized for its innovative approach to marketing, including advertising, digital, Pubic Relations, Social Media, content and buzz across its portfolio of brands.

BETHESDA, MD. – Marriott‘s transforming global marketing team will receive 42 Adrian Awards this year at tonight’s 59th annual Adrian Awards Dinner Reception and Gala hosted by The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) at the New York Marriott Marquis. In addition to the gold, silver and bronze awards already made public by HSMAI, the company is also up for coveted platinum awards to be revealed at the event. In recognition of top talent, HSMAI will also honor three Marriott marketers for their individual achievements.

In the past two years, Marriott has revolutionized the way it markets its awarding-winning loyalty program Marriott Rewards and its portfolio of 19 global brands to consumers. With its focus on the next generation traveler, Marriott has strong Brand, Digital and Portfolio Marketing, as well launched a Creative and Content Studio, a Buzz Marketing practice, consumer public relations group and M Live – its social media command center for real-time marketing.

“Marriott has always been about people – whether it is our guests or our amazing team of global marketers,” said Karin Timpone, global marketing officer. “The scope of Adrian awards in several categories recognizes the top marketing talent we have today at Marriott.”

The Adrian Awards began in 1957 and consider entries from every segment of the travel and hospitality marketing industry, including hotels, airlines, cruise lines, car rental companies, destinations and credit card companies, among others. Winners are selected from a field of more than 1,300 entries by senior industry and media experts.

Marriott’s Global Marketing team received the following honors:

Last week, HSMAI Europe recognized Global Marketing’s Digital Services team as Best in Class and Christina Purnell as one of HSMAI’s Europe’s Top 20 Extraordinary minds in Sales, Marketing & Technology.
