Marriott Hotels expands in the Midwest with the Milwaukee Marriott Downtown

The Milwaukee Marriott Downtown, 323 E. Wisconsin Ave., is the brand's first hotel in downtown Milwaukee.

MILWAUKEE – Jackson Street Partners and White Lodging announced the opening of the 205-room Milwaukee Marriott Downtown under a long-term management agreement with White Lodging.

Marriott Hotels is the company’s flagship brand with more than 500 properties in nearly 60 countries globally. The Milwaukee Marriott Downtown, 323 E. Wisconsin Ave., is the brand’s first hotel in downtown Milwaukee.

“This is a very exciting time for Milwaukee and for everyone involved with the Milwaukee Marriott Downtown,” said Jeffery S. Hess, the hotel’s general manager. “Being able to open ahead of schedule to accommodate Summerfest and the busy summer season in Milwaukee is a testament to all the hard work put forth by our construction and design crews, staff and partners. We are thrilled to begin welcoming guests to this beautiful new space and look forward to making the hotel and restaurant a destination for locals and visitors alike.”

Each of the hotel’s 205 rooms features luxurious accommodations to help revitalize mind, body and spirit with plush signature Revive® bedding and accessories. Perfect for the on-the-go traveler, all hotel rooms feature Plug-In technology panels for superior connectivity, as well as flat-screen televisions and in-room Wi-Fi.

The hotel features 9,000 square feet of versatile event space to accommodate events of all shapes and sizes. Longtime Milwaukee jeweler Schwanke-Kasten will have a store in the hotel.

Millioke- Meat. Cheese. Beer., the hotel’s restaurant, will feature a menu focusing on locally grown produce and brewed craft beers. The restaurant is committed to partnerships with local vendors including Milwaukee’s own Usinger’s Famous Sausage and the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. In addition, Millioke, which gets its name from the Alquoguin word meaning the good land, has 15 local suppliers and the menu will offer at least 15 Wisconsin cheeses at all times.

Guests may also refuel on the go with Starbucks; the full-service coffee-shop inside the hotel serves all day beverages and light fare.

The $54 million Milwaukee Marriott Downtown fronts North Milwaukee Street and East Wisconsin Avenue and was constructed around the existing Johnson Bank building at 333 E. Wisconsin Ave. It incorporates a majority of the existing 19th century Wisconsin Avenue buildings that originally stood on the site and their facades. Construction on the property began in late 2011.

Situated in the heart of the East Town, just steps from the historic Third Ward district, guests are perfectly positioned within walking distance of top attractions, including the shores of Lake Michigan, Milwaukee Art Museum, Pabst Theater, Cathedral Square Park, and the famed Milwaukee River Walk.
