Merchants Hospitality and Cachet Hospitality Group to Bring the Legendary Playboy Club Back to New York City

Playboy Lounge and Supper Club to be Key Feature of the New Cachet Boutique New York Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.

NEW YORK – Merchants Hospitality, Cachet Hospitality Group, and Playboy Enterprises announced plans to reintroduce the legendary Playboy Club to New York City as a key feature of the Cachet Boutique New York hotel which is slated to open later this year in midtown Manhattan.

The space will feature a lounge area, a game room and a full-service dining room, but by far the most attractive feature of Playboy Club New York will undoubtedly be the return of the Playboy Bunnies to Manhattan. The alluring Playboy Bunny hostesses, waitresses and cocktail servers have a worldwide, well-deserved reputation for their style and graciousness. The decor will feature elements from the sexy and sophisticated aesthetic of Playboy's rich history integrated with the energy of New York, one of the world's most exciting destinations.

"We are thrilled to be able to bring the Playboy Club back to New York City for the first time in more than 30 years," said David Laris, EVP of F&B and Nightlife. "The Playboy Club is the perfect addition to the distinctive features we are creating for our guests as part of the Cachet Boutique New York experience."

Cachet Boutique New York will be located at 510 West 42nd street, in the cultural and entertainment center of the city.  In addition to the Playboy Club, the hotel will feature 107 design-led rooms, featuring Cachet's signature luxurious beds as well as in-room technologies offering keyless check-in, high-speed internet, personalization and intuitive service. The hotel will also feature an outdoor Jacuzzi and wellness areas, a signature restaurant and an outdoor events space.

New York City's original Playboy Club, which was established in 1962, was located on 59th street between 5th Avenue and Madison, where it remained popular for more than 20 years, closing its doors in 1986. After Playboy founder, Hugh Hefner established the first Playboy Club in Chicago in 1960, the popular venues eventually grew to 30 locations around the world, and were the embodiment of urban sophistication, reflecting Playboy's distinctive ethos which represented quality, style and contemporary refinement.

"The reintroduction of the Playboy Club to New York City is a huge milestone for us as we continue to reinvent our brand for new audiences all around the world," said Valerie Golson, Playboy's Vice President of Gaming and Location Based Entertainment. "We are so happy to be teaming with Cachet both here in the United States and in China, where we are excited to open the highly-anticipated Playboy Club Shanghai this March."

In addition to its forthcoming clubs in New York and throughout Asia, Playboy and Cachet Hospitality will further grow the brand through lounges, restaurants and nightclubs.

Playboy has a growing venue platform with a variety of other operating partners that include successful clubs in London, Hanoi, Hyderabad, New Delhi and Mumbai, as well as a beer garden in Pune, India, and a cafe in Bangkok, Thailand. A truly global brand, Playboy magazine is published in 23 countries and its branded products are sold in more than 180 territories around the world.
