Minus5 Ice Bar at New York Hilton Midtown transforms its look just in time for the holidays

100 tons of brand-new ice provides the backdrop for this icy overhaul.

NEW YORK – Minus5 Ice Bar, the company that launched America’s first ice bar (Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, 2008) is gearing up for the holiday season with a complete makeover of its location inside the New York Hilton Midtown situated in the heart of midtown Manhattan at Sixth Avenue between West 53rd and 54th Streets. Slated to be unveiled officially in late December 2015, Minus5 New York City will debut an all-new look, giving locals and tourists yet another reason to visit the city’s coolest attraction.

The 3,000 square-foot venue’s frozen new look will include 100 tons of fresh 100% pure Canadian ice. Minus5’s team of award-winning ice carvers are already busy at work creating an all-new Minus5 New York. Their museum-quality carvings will dazzle visitors with an assortment of iconic New York landmarks like the “Liberty Throne,” “Chrysler Building,” “Museum of Modern Art,” as well as Broadway-themed decor and a V(Ice)P room inspired by the art of Andy Warhol.

“We have had such a great response from local New Yorkers and tourists alike since opening our doors here in 2013, and can’t wait to show off what we have in store for those looking to experience something truly unique in the heart of New York City,” said Minus5 President Noel Bowman. “In addition to the new ice sculptures and look, we will also be bringing back a variety of holiday-themed decor and interactive ice sculptures, great for corporate events, family photos or just a really different and fun place to take out-of-town guests this holiday season.”

The newly expanded lobby will welcome guests with even more space than before, with comfortable seating and warm lighting. This space is a great transition for guests before embarking on the Coolest Experience in New York City, and thanks to the remodeled ice bar and lobby, will be able to accommodate up to approximately 200 guests with 350-400 on a flow.

“We believe in keeping things fresh and exciting, and New York has so much inspiration to offer our artists which is why we decided to do a 100% overhaul of our decor,” Bowman continued. “Thanks to the expansion of our welcome lobby, we can now offer even more space for corporate buyouts and private events. It’s the coolest place in New York City to close a deal.”
