Most tourists to Malta stay in four-star hotels

According to the National Statistics Office a total 43 per cent of tourists (55,831 of 129,913) who came to Malta in October stayed at four-star hotels.

According to Times of Malta, a total 43 per cent of tourists (55,831 of 129,913) who came to Malta in October stayed at four-star hotels, the National Statistics Office said.

It said that 37,208 stayed in five-star hotels, 25,063 in three-star, 2,162 in two-star and 9,650 stayed in other collective accommodation.

The October arrivals were up by 3.4 per cent over last year and total nights increased by 4.7 per cent to 766,130.

Total arrivals in Malta amounted to 123,686 – 4.2 per cent more than in 2011. Total nights stood at 737,388, while the average length of stay reached six nights. Total arrivals and nights spent in Gozo and Comino numbered 6,227 and 28,743, respectively.
