Motorhome specialist offers free service to find best campsites with availability for summer staycations

The Motorhome Holiday Company is launching a weekly ‘Campsite Availability eAlert’ service to update would-be holidaymakers.

With recent calls from the Government to ‘keep summer holidays simple’, many of us are planning staycations this year. And motorhome holiday specialist The Motorhome Holiday Company is predicting demand for its motorhome rentals to increase as families choose the ultimate way to holiday ‘as a bubble’.

However, many people wishing to book a site to pitch their motorhome, campervan, caravan or tent are finding it almost impossible to make firm plans as many campsites are not yet accepting online bookings for the summer, possibly because they don’t want to process cancellations, and may therefore show as not having any availability. In addition, there is potential for some areas of the country such as Devon and Cornwall to once again be swamped over the summer, leading to possible overcrowding.

So, in an effort to make things easier for potential staycationers, The Motorhome Holiday Company is launching a weekly ‘Campsite Availability eAlert’ service to update would-be holidaymakers with details of which campsites across the UK are open, taking bookings and have availability. The service is free to sign up to until 1st of March.

It has also launched a free ‘Staycation Inspiration’ guide suggesting lesser visited destinations in the UK such as the Jurassic Coast, Gower Peninsular, Norfolk and Northumberland as suggested places to explore by motorhome this year. This free e-magazine provides signposts to many very useful campsite websites with thousands of campsites to choose from, travel tips and useful planning tools.

Matt Sims, Managing Director of The Motorhome Holiday Company, says, “Our motorhomes provide the ultimate way to both travel and holiday as a safe bubble, especially as each of our vehicles is deep cleaned, then sealed between hires, ensuring nobody else enters before you arrive to hire it.

We are passionate about inspiring people to experience their motorhome holiday in places they may not have immediately thought about this year. This widens their holiday choice and also prevents the overcrowding of beauty spots.

However we’ve been getting feedback that people are already finding it hard to make online bookings with campsites, so we are speaking to campsites ourselves every week to research availability and provide a special eAlert update service which is free for a limited time. This is available to customers and non-customers alike and is, we think, an invaluable resource to help people plan their 2021 staycation.”
