Accor Asia Pacific announced the following appointments in Thailand, China and Indonesia.
- Scott Ong is the new general manager at Novotel Bangna Bangkok. Scott joined Accor in 1993 working at Novotel Lotus in Bangkok before managing two other hotels in Thailand. He was most recently general manager of Novotel Chiang Mai.
- Thierry Le Ponner has been promoted to general manager of Chateau de Bangkok Serviced Apartments (managed by Sofitel). Thierry has been with Accor since 2000 when he helped open Sofitel Royal Angkor, Siem Reap. He was most recently resident manager of Novotel Bangna Bangkok.
- Suzie Shioyama has been appointed general manager of Novotel Chiang Mai. Suzie has been with Accor for over 20 years and has held various positions with the company in Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia and Australia. Suzie was most recently Executive Assistant Manager, Sofitel Ambassador Seoul.
- Benson Cheng has been appointed general manager of Sofitel Fizi Haikou Hotel on Hainan Island (scheduled to open December 2005) Benson joins Accor from Hong Kong New World Travel where he was general manager since 2004. Prior to that, he worked for more than 15 years with various groups in Greater China.
- Howard Bennett has been appointed general manager of Sofitel Galaxy Nanjing and Sofitel Golf & Resort Nanjing (both scheduled to open late 2005). Howard joined Accor in June 2005 from WTS Leisure Group based in the Middle East and has an extensive history in the hospitality industry dating back to 1980 working in South Africa, Mauritius, China, Malaysia and the USA.
- Jerome Stubert is the new general manager of Novotel Ambassador Seoul. After joining Accor in 1983, Jerome worked in Central Africa and France before moving on to Thailand and then Indonesia. He was most recently general manager of Novotel Bangna Bangkok.
- Laurent Chaudet has been appointed general manager of Sofitel Suzhou in Jiangsu Province (scheduled to open early 2006). Laurent started with Accor in 1983 working in France, Saudi Arabia and French Polynesia before moving to the Asia Pacific region in 1989. Laurent was most recently general manager of Novotel Ambassador Gangnam in Korea.
- Christophe Lauras has been appointed general manager of Novotel Zhongguancun Beijing (scheduled to open in 2006). Christophe joined Accor in 1989 at Novotel Surf Noumea and relocated to Asia in 1993. He was most recently general manager of Novotel Xinqiao Beijing.
- Thierry Brinte has been appointed general manager of Novotel Xinqiao Beijing. Thierry has worked with Accor for more than 18 years, first in Europe and then Martinique and Cuba. Thierry was most recently general manager of Sofitel Plaza Hanoi.
- Yonto Wongso is the new general manager of Novotel Batam in Sumatra. Yonto has been with Accor for over ten years holding a variety of positions at Accor hotels in Medan, Surabaya and Bali. Yonto was most recently general manager of Hotel Ibis Malioboro in Yogyakarta.
- Chairuddin Langkat has been promoted to general manager of Hotel Malioboro, Yogyakarta. Chairudding joined Accor in 1997 working at the Mercure Rekso Hotel in Jakarta. He was most recently Executive Assistant Manager, Hotel Ibis Slipi Jakarta/
