The Bentley Hotel in Istanbul will be marketed and represented under the design hotels brand

The Bentley Hotel in Istanbul will be marketed and represented under the design hotels brand. After three years of building, the hotel opened on January 6th 2003, directly in the European center of the city, only a few minutes from Istanbul’s favorite shopping streets. A city hotel with international energy, it will attract a young, urban elite.

The concept for the Bentley Hotel is the work of well-known Italian designer, Pierro Lissoni, of Lissoni Associati in Milan. Dominated by glass, transparency and light, the first two floors of the building’s facade are completely glazed. Movable wooden blinds direct views into and out of the lobby bar; the ideal chill-out environment, with live club sounds until 9pm every day.

Open architecture is a recurring theme at the hotel. The mezzanine restaurant not only affords views of the city outside the hotel through its glass front, but also directly into the kitchen, which is integrated into the restaurant itself. Guests can see, hear and smell as Turkish and international specialities are prepared, and the restaurant’s fusion menues are composed.

The interior design of the Bentley Hotel’s 40 rooms and ten suites is a minimalist contrast to the pulsing metropolis on the Bosphorus. Multi-functional furnishings in dark, olive-colored wood and a strict clarity and reduction in the interiors maximizes space. Huge windows (in the corner suites up to 60% of wall surface is glass) and a reserved color palette of light beige, gray and green tones bring about a transparent and bright atmosphere. Lobby, bar and restaurant further reflect this with floors of marble, while other public areas have warm parquet.

Each of the property’s 14 stories is identified by an antique or an ancient Turkish artwork, immediately on show to guests as they leave the elevator. Just as impressive an exhibit is the view of Istanbul from the King Suites on the 14th floor. With a private roof terrace, complete with open-air shower, and vistas of the Bosphorus and Golden Horn, it’s the perfect place to see the city from its most beautiful side.
