Major refurbishment of 149 year old hotel on Ryde sea front.
The historic, Grade II listed Royal Esplanade Hotel in Ryde on the Isle of Wight has re-opened following an extensive £400,000 refurbishment programme by Planning Solutions, the new owners of the hotel. The refurbishment has included upgrades to all 69 en-suite bedrooms, public/function rooms and the hotel’s restaurant.
National tourism consultants and leisure operators, Planning Solutions acquired the 149 year old Royal Esplanade Hotel in October 2015 and after the successful completion of the first phase of the refurbishment programme, re-opened the hotel in February. The second phase of the works (to include a 3 bedroom luxury cottage) is to be completed by June 2016.
Mike Stickland, Chairman of Planning Solutions said: “The Royal Esplanade Hotel has a rich history dating back to Victorian times. Its position on Ryde seafront close to the ferry and hovercraft terminals and the blue flag beaches of East Ryde sands is ideal for visitors who wish to enjoy a central base to explore the island’s attractions and varied landscape.”
The Royal Esplanade also has a number of attractive function rooms for corporate functions, weddings and private celebrations and Harry’s Bar, Brasserie and Lounge are also open to non-residents.
