New Rome hotel opening: The Pavilions Rome, The First Musica to open on 1st July 2022

Elegant riverside boutique completes The First Roma urban resort, a triptych of complementary lifestyle hotel experiences.

Burgeoning boutique luxury hotel brand, The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts, has announced the opening of The Pavilions Rome, The First Musica from 1 July 2022. Housed in a mid-century building originally designed by architect Mario Docci, and now elegantly renovated by Studio Marincola, the new five-star boutique joins sister hotels The First Arte and the First Dolce to complete a unique tripartite urban resort experience in the Eternal City. Collectively dubbed The First Roma, the three hotels blend la dolce vita with contemporary Roman culture, tantalising the senses through art, gastronomy and wellbeing.

Overlooking the winding Tiber River, just minutes from the Spanish Steps, The First Musica is a sophisticated new escape from the cosmopolitan clamour of the ancient capital. Framing oversized windows, the strikingly modern mesh and concrete façade in natural brass tones pays homage to Richard Meier’s iconic Museo dell’Ara Pacis, situated on the opposite riverbank; inside, superlative materials such as Loro Piana fabrics and rare Calacatta marble conjure a calm, warmly luxurious ambience. Every one of the 24 rooms and suites features floor-to-ceiling windows, dark boiserie on the walls, chic brass accents – from the bathroom fixtures to Bang & Olufsen Beosound Balance wireless speakers – and large format modern artworks.

Serving up curated cocktails, fine wines and Italian and international cuisine, accompanied by special live music events and DJ sets, the vibrant six- and seventh-floor Alto rooftop bar commands sweeping views of Rome’s historic cityscape. From an equally showstopping fifth-floor vantage point, sophisticated Italian restaurant Oliva serves a menu of reinterpreted Roman and regional classics in its in- and outdoor dining spaces.

Serenely sequestered below street level, a subterranean spa (opening September 2022 TBC) features an indoor pool and wellness area offering two treatment rooms for massages and beauty treatments exclusively for The First Roma guests.

In harmony with its Roman sisters, The First Arte and The First Dolce, The First Musica offers The Pavilions’ signature personalised service, intuitively tailored to the preferences and tastes of each individual guest. Together, the three hotels complete The First Roma, a unique deconstructed urban resort experience that takes guests on a sensational journey of sights, tastes and sounds. From the delicious desserts of The First Dolce’s VELO restaurant and Chef Daniele Lippi’s famous tasting menu at The First Arte’s Michelin-starred Acquolina; to the impressive collection of artworks exhibited at The First Arte; to the beautiful music filling the rooms and social spaces at The First Musica, guests are welcome to discover and enjoy different twists of The First Roma lifestyle at each of the three hotels.

The Pavilions invites guests to Experience Rome with inspiring tailor-made itineraries to immerse guests into the Eternal City’s unprecedented history and hidden secrets. From venturing off the beaten track to explore usually cloistered areas of the Vatican City or discover Rome’s subterranean secrets, to visiting the imposing art collection of Villa Borghese and embarking on a mouth-watering tour of Italian cuisine, The Pavilions’ signature Curated Journey provides an unforgettable experience.

With the opening of The Pavilions Rome, The First Musica, The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts now has a total of 11 owned or managed hotels and resorts in operation across Asia and Europe, with a further two in the pipeline.
