Today, the cosmopolitan, chic and vibrant city of Leeds sees the opening of the Radisson SAS  Hotel . Leeds` new and refurbished theatres, shopping malls, galleries, and waterfront dining district have earned the city a designation as an up and coming entertainment capital of the UK.

The property has 147 guest rooms, including 40 Business Class rooms and one suite, with a choice of different room styles, such as Italian, Art Deco and Hi-Tech. Other facilities include eight first class conference rooms with state-of-the-art technology for up to 70 delegates.

Located in an historic building in the heart of the city, the hotel presents one of the cornerstones of The Light, an exciting and innovative new MEUR163 (£100 million) shopping and entertainment complex. Under the same, partly glass roof, one can find restaurants, bars, fashion retailers, cinemas and a nightclub.

Business class guests staying at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Leeds will have complimentary membership at the new Esporta Health Club for the duration of their stay. The contemporary club offers everything to keep in shape or to relax. In addition to the latest and most sophisticated workout equipment in the fitness arena, the club has a 20 metre indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and spa baths.

For those who wish to venture into the city, the hotel is only a short walk from a wide variety of cafe bars, award-winning restaurants, world-renowned retailers such as Harvey Nichols, Vivienne Westwood and Hugo Boss, and the largest regional theatre in the country. Leeds is also famous for its lively and diverse nightlife.

All major transport networks, including road, rail and air, are nearby, with direct routes to London and Manchester. The hotel is only 14 km from Leeds Bradford International Airport and 800 metres from the busiest provincial rail
station in the UK, which provides an hourly service to London and a direct one-hour rail link with Manchester Airport.

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts targets the UK and Ireland as a major new market and it aims to have 16 properties by 2005. Leeds is the fourth Radisson SAS hotel in the UK, after London, Manchester and Stirlingshire in Scotland. The company currently has two hotels in Ireland, in Dublin and Galway, and another two hotels under development, in Limerick (opening Summer 2002) and Letterkenny (opening Spring 2003).
