Oakwood Worldwide expands presence in New York with short-term stay apartments

Property is latest addition to company's growing portfolio in key urban markets.

LOS ANGELES – Oakwood Worldwide, the global leader in corporate housing and serviced apartments, recently expanded its apartment portfolio in New York City – the third property the company has added to its inventory in recent months in key urban locations. The corporate apartments at the newly renovated 25-story property called The Nash, cater to business and leisure travelers seeking to lease a fully-furnished apartment for stays of less than 30 days.

Located at 222 East 39th Street, in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Midtown, The Nash adds 43 units to the company’s New York City portfolio, which includes nearly 750 apartments in more than 30 locations. The Nash broadens the company’s housing options with a unique offering of short-term stays for less than 30 days. This comes on the heels of the company’s expansion into sought-after urban markets with new property openings at 234 Newbury Street in Boston’s Back Bay and at Via 6 located at 2121 Sixth Avenue in downtown Seattle.

“Many clients are asking for the flexibility of a shorter stay coupled with spacious apartment accommodations and amenities – only a handful of corporate housing providers in the area can offer this solution,” said Leslie O’Brien, vice president and general manager for Oakwood Worldwide. “And just like at our new Boston and Seattle properties, we are already seeing a lot of demand for The Nash apartments.”

The Nash is close to the United Nations Headquarters, Grand Central Terminal and world-class shopping. The property features an indoor/outdoor rooftop lounge with views of adjacent parks and landmarks, a 1,200-square-foot fitness center with a boxing area and a 24-hour doorman and concierge. In addition, the building connects to retail space and offers underground access to garage parking.

All units come well-appointed with full kitchens and contemporary furnishings. Pocket doors separate the living area from the bedroom to give residents the option for additional space or added privacy in the junior, one-bedroom units. Additionally, eight of the building’s 32 studios and 11 one-bedroom apartments can be combined and converted into two-bedroom apartments. Other features include hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances and granite countertops.
