Oman Air signs Frequent Flyer Programme partnership with Rezidor Hotel Group

‘Sindbad’, Oman Air’s rapidly expanding Frequent Flyer Programme, is proud to announce a new partnership agreement with Rezidor Hotel Group – one of the world’s fastest growing hotel companies. Starting from 1st June 2009, Sindbad members will earn miles for stays at any Park Inn or Radisson Blu hotel in Europe, the Middle East or Africa. This tie-up means that for every eligible stay in either a Park Inn or Radisson Blu property, Sindbad members will earn 500 miles.

Speaking on the agreement, Marko Hytonen, Area Vice President of the Rezidor Hotel Group, said: “Having recently added to our Oman portfolio with the opening of Park Inn Muscat and with a further two openings planned, this is an ideal opportunity to tie up with Oman’s national carrier.”

Rezidor’s Middle East portfolio has been rapidly increasing with 2009 a record year in terms of hotel openings. Coupled with that, the increasing presence of Park Inn and Radisson Blu hotels in Europe and Africa provides Sindbad members with numerous opportunities to earn additional miles.

Mohammed Mubarak Al Shikely, Senior Manager Marketing, Oman Air, said: “The Rezidor Hotel Group, with its portfolio of nearly 270 hotels in 44 countries, has a strong presence across our network. Our members have the convenience of selecting hotels which offer true hospitality, luxurious accommodation and the opportunity to take home valuable Sindbad miles, which can be exchanged for travel rewards, when staying at any of their properties across the Gulf, Middle East, Africa and Europe.

“We are pleased to welcome Rezidor as our partner and to affirm our dedication in providing our members with the best in global travel partnerships.”

Oman Air is rapidly expanding its operations and will fly to more destinations in Europe and Asia before the end of 2009. Some of the destinations announced are Frankfurt, Munich and Paris in Europe and Male and Colombo in Asia.

Hytonen, who was in Muscat to sign the agreement, concluded: “The cooperation with frequent flyer programmes is an integral part of our business. We are currently working with over 30 airline programmes, and as the Middle East is one of the most important markets for Rezidor’s business development, it is our pleasure to add Oman Air.”
