The latest Oetker Collection Masterpiece Hotel

Palais Namaskar, Marrakech οpens 6 April 2012

The Palais Namaskar in Marrakech opens as part of the Oetker Collection of ‘Masterpiece’ Hotels on April 6, 2012. An idyllic resort of 41 suites, villas and palaces, Palais Namaskar has been beautifully developed following Feng Shui principles and lies in a picturesque setting between the Atlas Mountains and the Djebilet Hills. Renowned French-Algerian designer, and former associate of Philippe Starck, Imaad Rahmouni and owner and creator Philippe Soulier are behind the exquisite architecture, which blends Oriental and contemporary developments enhanced by subtle Moorish and Andalusian touches.

Palais Namaskar sits amidst 50,000 square metres of scented and manicured Balinese-inspired gardens complemented by cascading waterfalls and lakes; water flows through over 1.5 hectares of Palais Namaskar’s grounds. The philosophy behind the property is to provide guests with a magical and unique setting in which to disconnect from the world and experience their perfect moment.

Accommodation at Palais Namaskar ranges from the vibrant Residence, where spacious suites overlook private pools and Jacuzzis, the more secluded Pool Villas with minimalist but comfortable furnishings and entirely enclosed private gardens and heated pools, and the lavish three or four-bedroom Palaces, perfect for friends and family requiring an exclusive space.

Dining facilities at Palais Namaskar include ‘Le Namaskar’ Restaurant, which overlooks the main pool and is set to be the place to be seen in Marrakech. The Tea Lounge, ‘Espace T’, provides a more relaxed setting for light snacks and afternoon tea featuring the Parisian tea house Mariage Freres and the ‘No Mad Bar’, which comprises an amazing evening bar and a stylish rooftop bar, whereas the latter affords stunning views across both the Atlas Mountains and the Djebilet Hills.

Palais Namaskar’s spa has two double treatment rooms with private Hammam and four individual cabins with private outdoor terraces. Treatments are by Guerlain and ILA, focusing on both spiritual and physical healing. The property’s stunning grounds also provide the perfect setting for an indulgent treatment or guests can request an in-room spa experience. A well-equipped gym with the latest equipment and a 1km jogging path surrounding the resort contribute to the exceptional wellbeing and fitness facilities. A personal trainer and yoga teacher are on hand for private or group classes.

Palais Namaskar’s location outside the medina affords guests the chance to enjoy a host of activities in the surrounding area such as quad biking, camel and horse-riding, trekking and biking in the nearby Atlas Mountains or golf at one of the six golf courses within 45 minutes of Palais Namaskar. More dramatic excursions for guests seeking unique and memorable experiences include hot air ballooning over the Djebilet Hills or helicopter trips to the desert. The Jemaa El-Fna square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and all main attractions in the ancient Medina are also just 20-minutes away from Palais Namaskar.

Typical of the focus on luxury excellence, Palais Namaskar offers guests its own private jet service, which operates from Casablanca Airport to Marrakech in just 30 minutes. The private jet, with interiors reflecting the design of Palais Namaskar, can also be utilized for transfers to other Oetker Collection properties as well as any long haul destinations (non-stop from New York, Moscow or Dubai). Private car transfers are also available to guests from various parts of Morocco.

Frederic Picard, General Manager of Palais Namaskar, commented; "We are looking forward to welcoming guests to Palais Namaskar, where they will experience exceptional and unrivalled service in the most idyllic of settings. Palais Namaskar is about creating perfect moments and it will be our responsibility as a team to ensure that each guest experiences theirs’"

Palais Namaskar marks the Oetker Collection’s first hotel in Africa and the second to be located outside Europe, following the announcement to open Le Bristol Abu Dhabi in 2013.
