Park Holidays UK adds nine new parks to its portfolio

Chichester Lakeside Holiday Park, Chichester, West Sussex.

Park Holidays UK was formed 35 years ago, and its portfolio of coastal parks has been built up largely in southern England, from Devon in the west to Suffolk in the east.

Park Holidays UK has completed a deal which sees nine additional holiday parks joining the group, all previously owned by Bridge Leisure.

The acquisition, says the company, means it will be able to accommodate thousands of extra guests this year as UK tourism continues to benefit from a staycation surge.

It brings to 42 the number of parks now operated by Park Holidays UK – and provides the group with a wider national presence now reaching from Cornwall to Scotland.

Park Holidays UK was formed 35 years ago, and its portfolio of coastal parks has been built up largely in southern England, from Devon in the west to Suffolk in the east.

Bridge Leisure was founded in 2008 and has grown through the acquisition and development of holiday parks in the West Country, Peak District, Yorkshire and Scotland.

Park Holidays UK director Tony Clish said the coming together of the two well-established groups presents exciting new opportunities in one of tourism's most dynamic sectors:

"Both companies have invested substantially in their parks over recent years, and created a range of high quality holiday products which people clearly enjoy," he said.

"Business this year is proving exceptionally buoyant across all our offerings, from glamping to renting a luxury lodge or holiday caravan, as well as holiday home sales.

"The staycation trend was already well established prior to the pandemic, but has now been given extra impetus by the uncertainties about travelling abroad.

"The long-term prospects for this industry are extremely encouraging, and we are now taking bookings well into 2022 from people keen to secure their chosen dates," added Tony.

Parks in both groups provide extensive leisure facilities and family entertainment at a largely inclusive cost, plus on-site restaurants, cafes and bars.

"We will now be committing even more investment to ensuring that park facilities, services and accommodation meet the highest possible standards," said Tony.

"We are constantly raising the quality bar across our parks, but also remaining fiercely competitive in terms of pricing in order to deliver a first-class experience at an affordable cost."
