Radisson SAS  Hotels & Resorts announced eight hotels that joined the brand in the first half of 2001, including  three key locations in the emerging Eastern European market. Today, Radisson SAS` portfolio includes 142 hotels in 38 countries.

The first-class, international upscale Radisson SAS Royal Hotel in St.
Petersburg, Russian Federation, opened on July 23rd, further strengthening Radisson SAS` presence in Russia. All 164 rooms and 17 suites are individually air-conditioned and have a classical decor.

Facilities include a 72-seat restaurant, a cafe, two private dining rooms, five meeting rooms, and a health club. The historical building is located in the heart of the city at Nevsky Prospekt. The original building has been demolished and reconstructed, but its unique 200-year-old façade was preserved.

Radisson SAS Grand Hotel in Sofia, Bulgaria, opened in January. The 136-room property has undergone major renovations in order to reposition the location as a top quality business hotel offering a wide variety of services and amenities for the frequent traveller. The hotel is centrally located in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. It is within walking distance of the commercial and financial district and located ten miles from Sofia International Airport.

This first-class, full-service hotel offers an all-day restaurant, a lobby lounge and an Irish pub, a casino and nightclub. In addition, the property has extensive conference and meeting facilities, a fitness center and several shops.

The opening of the Radisson SAS Hotel in Tallinn, Estonia, in April further strengthens the brand`s presence in the Central and Eastern European region. Conveniently located in the heart of the financial and commercial district, the 25-story first-class Radisson SAS Hotel, Tallinn has 280 fully appointed rooms and offers 24-hour room service, three telephone sets in each room, data port and other additional amenities for the demanding modern business travellers, including more than 3,000 feet of conference and meeting space.

Radisson SAS hotels were also opened in Linkoping, Sweden; Klaipeda, Lithuania; Espoo, Finland; Galway, Ireland; and Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
