Shangri-La to manage second hotel in China’s Jiangsu province

Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has signed a management agreement with the China-based Changzhou Fudu Hotel Company Limited to operate a Traders hotel in Changzhou city, Jiangsu province by mid-2004.



This will be the group’s second hotel in the province, where Shangri-La already operates a deluxe property in Nanjing. The new hotel with approximately 400 rooms and suites will be situated in the heart of the city’s new development zone.



Traders Fudu Hotel, Changzhou will feature a variety of restaurants and bars. The meeting facilities will include an 800-square-metre pillarless ballroom that will be complemented by a full range of function rooms. It will also have recreational facilities, including a gym with an indoor swimming pool.



Commenting on the management contract, Chen Libin, chairman of Changzhu Fudu Hotel Company Limited, said: We are delighted to bring to Changzhou the Traders brand, which is synonymous with service efficiency and genuine value for money for quality business-class accommodation. We are confident that the strength of the brand and its established network in China will build additional market share for the hotel and ensure high quality and service standards.

Traders Fudu Hotel, Changzhou will complement our existing portfolio of 16 mainland China properties and reinforce our position as the dominant luxury hotel group in China.
