Sheepskin's new retro rural retreat – Ty Mamgu, Nr Cardigan Bay

With outstanding views, great walking from your doorstep and beautiful beaches just a 20 minute drive away, Ty Mamgu is the perfect base from which to explore all that Ceredigion and west Wales has to offer as well as to enjoy a relaxing rural and unique retreat.

Sheepskin – the award winning collection of stylish and distinct holiday properties – now offers another new and unique holiday experience with the introduction of Ty Mamgu, a delightful vintage styled cabin, to its collection.

Ty Mamgu, meaning ‘Grandma’s Cabin’ in Welsh, is in a secluded location tucked away on the edge of an organic farm in Ceredigion, near Cardigan Bay. Simple on the outside, yet full of vintage charm on the inside, its style can best be described as ‘where rural meets retro’. Highlights include a ’50s style kitchen, a sumptuous double bed made by the owner from a solid oak gate, a distinctive hand crafted stick chair, log burning stoves and traditional welsh blankets that are perfect for snuggling up with on cooler evenings – perhaps while star gazing from the cabin’s private deck.  Ty Mamgu also has all modern conveniences such as TV and iPod dock.

A stay at Ty Mamgu also offers guests the option of an excellent home cooked breakfast from the farmhouse using locally sourced and homemade produce. Breakfast choices include a Swansea Fisherman’s Breakfast which includes bacon, Welsh cockles and laverbread with cream on homemade granary toast; traditional Welsh Rarebit and the most decadent porridge made with Welsh double cream, brown sugar and a dash of Welsh whisky. There is also the farm’s organic farm shop just minutes away and where guests can stock up on all manner of delicious treats to enjoy during their self-catering stay.

With outstanding views, great walking from your doorstep and beautiful beaches just a 20 minute drive away, Ty Mamgu is the perfect base from which to explore all that Ceredigion and west Wales has to offer as well as to enjoy a relaxing rural and unique retreat. There is everything from walking part of the Wales Coastal Path and observing the red kites at the Nant yr Arian visitor centre to antique shopping in Newcastle Emlyn and visiting the National Wool Museum – all within easy reach.

As with all Sheepskin stays, guests at Ty Mamgu will receive a bespoke guide to the area that is tailored to their preferences prior to their stay, as well as a special welcome hamper on arrival and hotel comforts including fluffy cotton towels and bathrobes.

Ty Mamgu sleeps two people. Breakfasts are available at an extra cost. The property is also pet friendly and suitable for a small, young family with a travel cot and high chair available on request.
