Sheraton Seattle Hotel gives a sneak peek into the iconic brand’s future

“Heart for the City” is a tour that celebrates communities and Sheraton’s role within them, featuring one-of-a-kind immersive experiences designed specifically for each destination.

BETHESDA, MD – A week of celebration will kick off on October 4 at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel as it marks the completion of its multi-million-dollar transformation. Embracing its three decades of history in the community, the iconic hotel is the natural host for Sheraton’s “Heart for the City” experiential tour’s second stop. The immersive larger than life experience captures each city’s vibe and brings to life everything that makes Seattle unique.

The Sheraton Seattle Hotel’s recent renovation is a demonstration of the hotel’s commitment to serving its community. The extensive transformation has allowed the hotel to receive the brand’s esteemed Grand designation, which will change the hotel’s name to Sheraton Grand Seattle. The designation ensures that guests are receiving the best that Sheraton has to offer, providing the highest benchmark on product and service while also displaying iconic signatures of the city, bridging the hotel to the community.

Seattle is steeped in culture and innovation, and we are proud to play an active role in the downtown community,” said Keri Robinson, General Manager of the Sheraton Seattle Hotel. “Our Sheraton is the place where people like to gather – from guests staying here for a convention as the headquarter hotel, in town with a tech giant, to leisure tourists for a cruise or a Seahawks game.  It’s also where the community comes to give generously at the many galas we host and to visit our annual Gingerbread Village, a quintessential holiday tradition in Seattle.”

This week allows the hotel to play an important role as the launch pad to the next chapter of the Sheraton story. Revealed for the first time at the Seattle Sheraton Hotel “Heart for the City” stop will be the brand’s transformation room, where guests and locals will be immersed in a future vision of the Sheraton Hotels experience. Visitors will get a peek at the upcoming redesign of Sheraton via a dynamic projection mapping experience that will show visitors how the brand will utilize space redesign and curated amenities and services to enable gathering and productivity.

“Heart for the City” is a tour that celebrates communities and Sheraton’s role within them, featuring one-of-a-kind immersive experiences designed specifically for each destination. Each experience features fun and unique visual perspectives on local icons, places, and ideas central to the city’s identity. The tour includes complimentary community programming at the hotels, where brand partners, local businesses, and thought leaders will lead in-depth discussions and presentations in their areas of expertise. Each of the stops will allow guests and locals to gather, engage, and be entertained as they experience the city and the Sheraton property in a whole new way.

During its stop in Seattle on October 4-11, the tour will highlight the city’s transformative history.  Among other features, guests and locals will be able to experience one the most recognized landmarks in the world, Seattle’s Space Needle, in a completely unexpected way. They’ll also have the chance to sing in the rain as they swing through glistening “raindrops,” having a little fun with Seattle’s well-known wet weather. And, through Sheraton’s long-standing partnership with Seattle-born Starbucks, visitors will turn back the clock to get fueled by the city’s favorite brew since 1971.

Also, in collaboration with SHOWTIME, Sheraton Seattle Hotel adds onto a week of celebration an exciting treat for Seattle’s TV buffs and loyalty guests. Get a sneak peek at the season 6 premiere of the SHOWTIME drama series Ray Donovan at a private screening hosted at the hotel. Ray Donovan premieres Sunday, October 28 at 9 p.m. – only on SHOWTIME.

As Seattle is a hub for innovation and technology, on October 10 from 6-7:30pm PDT, Sheraton Seattle Hotel will host a General Assembly workshop on Why Making Change Is Hard – And How to Do It for guests and locals alike. This kicks off a new collaboration with the education pioneer and Sheraton. General Assembly is a leading source for training and career transitions that fosters a flourishing community of professionals pursuing careers they love.
