SiteMinder helps Scandinavia’s largest hotel amplify online revenue by 50%

The 812-room luxury hotel in the Danish capital occupies two striking, 23-storey towers which tilt 15 degrees in opposite directions.

Scandinavia’s largest hotel, Bella Sky Comwell, located in Copenhagen, has amplified web-based revenue by 50 per cent following its partnership with global online distribution technology provider, SiteMinder.

The 812-room luxury hotel in the Danish capital – recently voted the world’s most liveable city for the second year running by the UK lifestyle magazine, Monocle – occupies two striking, 23-storey towers which tilt 15 degrees in opposite directions. Bella Sky boasts five restaurants, 30 meeting rooms and an 850 sq m wellness area, with one entire floor of hotel rooms reserved for women only.

SiteMinder’s Executive Director, Sales & Marketing EMEA and The Americas, Erik Munoz, said the 50 per cent increase in online revenue for Bella Sky this year, compared to last year, shows how effective SiteMinder’s Channel Manager is as an integrated, cloud-based connectivity exchange between hotels and their reservation systems and the world’s leading booking sites.

“Our mission at SiteMinder is to maximise online revenue and cut distribution costs for all our clients. It’s gratifying to see a significant property like Bella Sky do just that,” said Mr Munoz.

The platform provides direct, two-way PMS connectivity which automatically delivers reservations from online booking platforms, including OTAs (online travel agents) and wholesalers, straight into Bella Sky’s Opera PMS (property management system).

Bella Sky’s Yield Manager, Cindy Tulinius, said SiteMinder offered the hotel a wide variety of sales channels, a stable, seamless, two-way interface and a strong support network.

“The setup with SiteMinder was very quick, the channel manager system is fast and easy to use and we have been impressed by the company’s positive and helpful attitude,” Ms Tulinius said. “With a large hotel like ours producing a high volume of bookings, it’s important to have a trustworthy partner like SiteMinder with the ability to handle all our data in a professional manner. SiteMinder has saved us a lot of manual work.”
