Solage Hotels & Resorts completes $1.1m. renovation to six-time Michelin Star-rated Solbar Restaurant

Solbar reopens with new enhancements; Names Brad Cecchi Chef de Cuisine.

CALISTOGA, CALIF. – Solage Hotels & Resorts, a California-based hotel and resort management company, announced the completion of a $1.1 million renovation for its six-time Michelin Star-rated restaurant, Solbar, located in its flagship property Solage Calistoga. In addition, the property named Brad Cecchi as Solbar’s new chef de cuisine.

“We are thrilled to announce Solbar’s reopening with the addition of Chef de Cuisine, Brad Cecchi, to our culinary team,” said Executive Chef Brandon Sharp, Vice President of Culinary Operations for Solage Hotels & Resorts. “The transformation and refined ambiance of our dining room and our expanded outdoor seating reflect quintessential Napa Valley today. We’re also excited about the addition of our private Chef’s Atrium where up to 10 guests will enjoy a unique menu with wine pairings. All this, combined with Chef Cecchi at the helm, takes Solbar to the next level in our promise to deliver inspired culinary experiences.”

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Cecchi brings years of experience in local and sustainable cuisine. Prior to joining Solage Calistoga, Cecchi served as executive chef developing farm-to-table-cuisine at Urban Farmer in Cleveland. He spent more than five years serving as chef de cuisine at Grange Restaurant & Bar, and also served as chef de cuisine at La Perla Bistro, both in Sacramento.

The enhancements to Solbar are part of a larger renovation plan that includes another $1.2M capital investment in the resort’s award-winning Spa Solage. The Solbar redesign, developed by Shirley Robinson, principal of San Francisco and St. Helena-based Robinson Finishes, provides a complete refresh and enhancement to the overall experience at Solage Calistoga’s Michelin Star-rated restaurant. In addition to increasing the size of Solbar’s outdoor lounge seating with a new patio, the interior lounge and dining areas have been divided by custom-built partitions made from reclaimed wood and oversized multi-paned windows to create exclusive, intimate settings for both areas.

The transformation features warm tones of mink brown and creamy gold, which echo the palette of the Napa countryside. Robinson’s design of globe-shaped chandeliers fashioned from willow vines hang throughout the dining room and lounge where custom-built banquettes, tables, sofas and lounge furniture create a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. An original Napa Valley landscape, painted by world-renown artist, Ira Yeager, serves as a focal point for the dining room which includes 14 additional seats in the indoor lounge and 40 additional outdoor seats on the restaurant’s inviting courtyard.

The Chef’s Atrium, a private, open-air dining room, lit with aged bronze lanterns and a custom wine bottle display wall has been installed within the dining room’s existing outdoor glass-walled enclosure. The table seats up to 10 people for one seating nightly. Guests will enjoy a custom five-course menu starting at $95 per person; each course may be paired with Solbar sommelier selections of wine starting at an additional $35. Lastly, the restaurant’s state-of-the-art kitchen received a remodel that expedites service and accommodates the amplified seating.

Known for creating indulgent yet balanced dishes that comfort the soul and nourish the body, Solbar uses local and seasonal ingredients coupled with bold and bright flavors to deliver fresh farm-to-table cuisine. Solbar is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with brunch on Sunday and lounge service daily.

For another unique experience, visit Chef Sharp’s newest restaurant, Evangeline in downtown Calistoga. Opening in early February, the restaurant will be the only French bistro in the upper Napa Valley area with a Creole-inspired soul. The 2,000 square foot, red-brick dining space will feature signature cocktails and modern classics to traditional favorites.
