Southern Spoor Marketing welcomes Ecolux Boutique Hotel & Spa

Surrounded by a large, lush garden, Ecolux Boutique Hotel & Spa comprises a contemporary main building where the restaurant is located, a separate spa overlooking the garden, and 17 modern, comfortably appointed bedrooms.

Hospitality marketing specialists Southern Spoor Marketing have announced that Ecolux Boutique Hotel & Spa in Komatipoort, Mpumalanga, has joined their portfolio of privately owned hospitality establishments. At the forefront of its field and setting the standard for tourism marketing enterprises, Southern Spoor Marketing specialises in sales and marketing related services for the tourism and hospitality industry.

“We are delighted to welcome Ecolux Boutique Hotel & Spa to our portfolio of unique and owner- run properties,” says Southern Spoor director Anita Foxcroft. “Ecolux enables us to offer our clients a five-star, yet affordable lodge option on the southern border of the Kruger National Park and a gateway to Mozambique. Ecolux not only offers guests elegant and charming accommodation with a great restaurant, but also the opportunity to interact with the lodge owners, Johan and Vonja Coetzee, who are personally involved in the day-to-day running of the lodge and who ensure that all guest expectations are exceeded.”

Only 5 km from the border between South Africa and Mozambique, Komatipoort is Mpumalanga’s gateway to a safari and sea getaway, with Maputo less than 2 hours’ drive from the Lebombo border. Komatipoort is also only 70 km from the Swazi border of Mananga, making Ecolux Boutique Hotel & Spa the ideal stopover for an African road trip, an exciting family holiday destination when visiting the Kruger National Park, or the idyllic location for a romantic getaway.

Surrounded by a large, lush garden, Ecolux Boutique Hotel & Spa comprises a contemporary main building where the restaurant is located, a separate spa overlooking the garden, and 17 modern, comfortably appointed bedrooms (8 standard, 8 luxury and 1 VIP suite). All rooms have an open plan bedroom/bathroom (separate toilet) layout, king-sized beds, air-conditioning, large flat screen TVs, double showers and private patios or balconies. The VIP suite is perfect for honeymooners with a private garden and Jacuzzi.

Before setting off to explore the bush, guests are invited to start their day of adventure with a wholesome breakfast served beside the pool at Vonja’s Restaurant, returning at sunset to enjoy a superb South African meal paired with a full-bodied wine to the sounds of cicadas. The restaurant offers organic food prepared with fresh, home-grown herbs and vegetables. The indoor area of the restaurant may also be used for conferences for up to 30 delegates if the hotel is booked for the exclusive use of a conference group.

With its subtropical climate, summers in Komatipoort are hot and winters are mild, so guests can enjoy the outdoors throughout the year. A range of exciting activities are on offer in addition to exploring the Kruger by car. Within the park, visitors can experience true wilderness on a guided walk, or encounter elusive nocturnal animals on a sunset or night drive in a 4×4 open safari vehicle. Elephant back safaris are on offer at a nearby elephant sanctuary, or the opportunity to search for wild animals on horseback in a non-Big Five reserve. There are no tigers in Africa but there are plenty of tiger fish in the Komati River and avid anglers will relish the challenge of bagging a ‘tiger’. For a more tranquil pursuit, there is the option of a round of golf at the nine-hole Komatipoort Golf Course.

While nature beckons to be explored in this part of the world, guests at Ecolux Boutique Hotel & Spa might well be tempted to spend a day being pampered and plied at the garden spa.
