Silken Hotels will use SiteMinder’s connectivity switch to integrate its Opera Central Reservation System to the world’s major booking channels, lifting the global visibility of its accommodation online and making it easier and faster for consumers to book with Silken Hotels.
Global online distributor, SiteMinder, has expanded its footprint in southern Europe, with the channel manager announcing at Spain’s huge FITUR tourism trade fair this week that it has partnered with one of Spain’s top accommodation groups, Silken Hotels, for ‘best-in-class’ online distribution integration.
Boasting a portfolio of 33 four and five star hotels across Spain, Silken Hotels will use SiteMinder’s connectivity switch to integrate its Opera Central Reservation System to the world’s major booking channels, lifting the global visibility of its accommodation online and making it easier and faster for consumers to book with Silken Hotels, which specialises in deluxe accommodation offering ‘character and personality’.
SiteMinder’s Head of Sales for Southern Europe & Latin America, Alex Barros, said the distribution platform’s success over the past two years in the UK and northern European markets had paved the way for inroads in southern Europe, with growing demand from hotels for cutting-edge two way connectivity solutions that lift bookings, cut costs and save time in an increasingly competitive market.
“Silken is not only a leading luxury hotel brand in Spain, they identify online distribution as a critical area to establish a competitive advantage,” Mr Barros said at the FITUR expo in Madrid, which runs from January 30 to February 3. “Imagine the benefits from a fully automated and seamless integration between Opera CRS or PMS, booking channels and full reservation delivery. SiteMinder has established a reputation as ‘best-in-class’ in the integrated distribution environment and Silken experienced this for themselves during the extensive trial period.
“SiteMinder will automatically integrate Silken’s Opera ORS with high-performing booking platforms and seamlessly deliver online reservations directly back into the ORS, making it easier for consumers everywhere to book a Silken room and helping the group’s properties across Spain and also Belgium to manage inventory in the most efficient way possible, capitalising on our low, flat, monthly fee model.
“We pride ourselves on our technology and our superior global customer service and look forward to helping Silken Hotels grow its business and to expanding our customer base in southern Europe with state-of-the-art connectivity solutions that reap results.”
Alberto Izquierdo as Corporate Sales Officer and Itziar Poza as Revenue Manager for Silken Hotels, said: “After trialling several alternatives, we chose SiteMinder to power our online distribution because their powerful dashboard, the two-way integrations and pooled inventory model best enabled us to manage our booking channels, reduce costs and lift occupancy and, even with in the short time we have worked with SiteMinder we have already seen an improvement in reservations and economic efficiencies and SiteMinder’s helpful customer service team is first class.”
