HENDERSONVILLE, TENNESSEE – STR, Inc., the global leader of competitive benchmarking, information services and research to the hotel industry, broke ground Wednesday morning on a 35,000-square-foot addition to its corporate headquarters. The company has maintained its headquarters at 735 East Main Street since April 2002.
Founded by Randy and Carolyn Smith in 1985, STR celebrated its 30th anniversary earlier this summer. Overall, the STR enterprise employs more than 200 people in 16 offices around the globe, including 131 at its current headquarters and 28 at its data operations center that is housed in the Bluegrass Commons Office Park in Hendersonville. The new building, which is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2016, will allow all Hendersonville-based employees to be housed on one 61,000-square-foot campus.
The additional space will feature individual offices, meeting rooms and centralized office space. It also will allow for the continued expansion of STR’s information technology department.
STR gathers hotel performance data from more than 51,000 hotels comprising nearly 7.0 million rooms located in more than 160 countries.
