Survey reveals the most expensive luxury hotels in the world

The Brando, situated on the beautiful private island of Tetiaro, leads the ranking with a minimum price of $4,818 per night this summer.

The most expensive hotel in the world is located in French Polynesia, according to a new survey conducted by Luxury-Hotels.com.

The survey compared rates at luxury hotels around the globe based on the cheapest available double room during the month of August 2021. Only hotels with at least 10 guest rooms were considered for the survey.

The Brando, situated on the beautiful private island of Tetiaroa, leads the ranking with a minimum price of $4,818 per night this summer. Perched on one of a dozen small islands that surround a spectacular three-mile wide lagoon, the all-inclusive resort features 35 secluded villas with private pools on pristine white-sand beaches frequented by sea turtles and exotic birds.

Second priciest according to the survey is Amangiri in the US state of Utah, while Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas in the Indian Ocean completes the podium positions. A remote hideaway in Canyon Point, Utah, Amangiri is a favourite for those seeking both adrenaline-fuelled adventure and peaceful desert retreats. Maia Seychelles Villas, meanwhile, is one of the Indian Ocean region’s most acclaimed luxury resorts.

Two luxury ‘dude ranches’ (western guest ranches), in Montana and Wyoming, are the 4th and 5th most expensive accommodation options, with rates starting at $3,869 and $3,600, respectively. Europe’s priciest hotel over the summer is the Le Dune Hotel on the south western coast of Sardinia, where guests can expect to pay a minimum rate of $3,321 per night.

The following table shows the 10 most expensive hotels in the world this summer. The prices listed indicate the cheapest available rate for a double room (including all taxes and fees) during the period spanning August 1 to August 31, 2021.
