ATLANTA, GA – Highly anticipated by Atlanta residents and visitors alike, the brand-new Kimpton Shane Hotel is already opened Located in the “Heart of the Arts” and part of the buzzing Midtown Union neighborhood, the boutique hotel exemplifies the expressiveness of the local culture with creative inspiration infused into every aspect of the guest experience.

“As a Midtown resident myself, I’m excited for first-time guests of our new hotel to experience all this neighborhood has to offer,” said Alan Rae, General Manager, The Kimpton Shane Hotel. “I am especially passionate about embracing local community relationships and doing our part to contribute to the vibrant arts scene here in Midtown.”

To coincide with its debut and show its support of the local arts community, the Kimpton Shane team is proud to announce its partnership with DrawChange, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering impoverished children through the use of art therapy-based programming. To commemorate the partnership, the Kimpton Shane will host a DrawChange representative as the hotel’s honored “first guest,” as they will be among the first to check-in to the new boutique hotel. Additional components of the partnership will include a special give-back hotel room package, which will offer 15% off the Best Flexible Rate and a donation of $10/night to DrawChange, as well as several volunteer opportunities for the Kimpton Shane team with the organization.

Hotel Amenities & Design

The Kimpton Shane is home to 230 sophisticated guest rooms, including 18 suites and one Presidential Suite, and over 6,600 square feet of flexible meetings and events space on the hotel’s second floor. Additionally, Midtown Atlanta’s thriving culinary scene became even more flavorful today with the debut of two new destination dining experiences within the hotel – New American restaurant, Hartley Kitchen & Cocktails, and cocktail lounge, Aveline. Both open under the direction of Executive Chef Mark Alba, formerly at the helm of 5Church, and General Manager Stephanie Bloink-Adams.

“We know that with the Kimpton name comes high expectations, and we are excited and proud to open our doors and let guests experience what we have to offer,” said Alba. “Surrounded by a thriving arts and culture scene, there was no shortage of inspiration as we developed the menus, combining the best of new American and classic Southern cooking.”

The sophisticatedly modern design of the hotel was led by Kellie Sirna and her design team at Studio 11 Design in partnership with Kimpton’s design team. Inspired by the artistic attitude of the Midtown neighborhood, Studio 11 Design chose natural materials and a neutral color palette to create a backdrop that highlights the property’s artful, sculptural furniture and lighting.

“The hotel’s design reflects the growing creative and art-driven community, with an emphasis on striking sculptural elements, like the massive tree on the mezzanine level, textured furnishings, and dramatic lighting,” said Sirna. “These ‘focal points’ are an ode to the artistic energy of the neighborhood and complemented by soft earth tones, plush accents and contemporary fixtures to create a warm, yet decidedly modern experience.”

The hotel’s highly textured artwork program was curated by Atlanta-based art consultant Soho Myriad and features works from many local artists. Architecture was led by Cooper Carry, with lighting design by Gabler Youngston.
