The St. Louis Marriott West announces renovations for 2016

Hotel refresh focuses on technology, culture and style for connected travelers.

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Marriott West is undergoing a great transformation to be completed by spring of 2016. The St. Louis Marriott West is the preferred hotel of many St. Louis-bound business and leisure travelers, conventions and local weddings and events. More than 200,000 guests stay at the hotel each year. To better serve these guests, renovations begin in February 2016 and will include a new Marriott Greatroom that features technology upgrades, a sleek lobby space, an updated Blue Fire Grille restaurant, and a new bourbon tasting experience in the bar. Updates are also underway for the properties’ 14,000 square-feet of ballrooms that provide space for scalable meeting rooms and sophisticated wedding and event venues.

“The enhancements to our new Marriott Greatroom lobby and lounge area are inspired by our guests’ preferences for style, connectivity and sophisticated taste,”  says General Manager Catherine Stevens. “We are looking forward to completing a transformation that will allow us to offer the kinds of amenities our savvy Marriott guests have come to expect.”

The St. Louis Marriott West is partnering with Moncur Design Associates to create the newly updated spaces which will feature elements inspired from St. Louis’ heritage as a River City. The Marriott Greatroom will feature rich greys and browns, topographical maps of the region and historic photography.

A Smart Hotel
Every detail of the redesigned Marriott Greatroom and Ballrooms in the refreshed St. Louis Marriott West were made to fit a traveler’s technology needs. St. Louis Marriott West guests will enjoy unlimited access to power with new portable charging stations and guests will find it easier to stay connected to office and home with Marriott’s upgraded high-speed 200 mbps wireless internet connection. Corporate meetings are more productive and engaging in enhanced ballrooms with Marriott’s exclusive Meetings Imagined service, designed to deliver more impactful and inspired meetings.

A Great Transformation
Upon entering the lobby, visitors and guests will instantly notice a smart, sophisticated style that is both comfortable and modern. The Marriott Greatroom is the perfect open space to work, unwind or enjoy drinks. The atmosphere is welcoming to business and leisure travelers alike.

The American Whiskey and Bourbon trend continues to be hot for 2016. The Blue Fire Grille features a redesigned menu that includes bourbon flights for sampling three top-shelf bourbon brands. Bartenders are embracing the trend by taking part in a Marriott training program that teaches them how to craft the perfect bourbon cocktail, showcase flavors through bourbon flights and perfect the art of tasting.  Beyond the bar, Guests will find perfect pairings when they enjoy meals at the hotel’s Blue Fire Grille, a classic American Bistro.

“Our staff is proud to provide our guests with the best possible experience that includes the types of amenities they expect to find in a progressive city like St. Louis, a city already known for its business and technology industries, great sports and first-class cultural institutions,” says General Manager Catherine Stevens.

The hotel itself is a short drive from the airport and attractions and landmarks in downtown St. Louis such as Forest Park, The St. Louis Zoo, Busch Stadium and the Arch.
