UAE's Danat Hotels & Resorts boost revenue thanks to Nor1's eStandby upselling product

Rapid deployment of eStandby in the region now helps more than 100 properties in the UAE, including Danat's Distinctive Hotels, maximize premium inventory.

LONDON – As occupancies continue to improve worldwide, Danat Hotels & Resorts is deploying Nor1‘s eStandby upselling product to help its upscale hotel portfolio realize thousands of dollars in upselling revenue each week, as travelers increasingly seize the opportunity to pre-book premium inventory via targeted offers, prior to check-in.

Danat Hotels & Resorts is the upscale hotel division of the National Corporation of Tourism and Hotels (NCT&H). Nor1’s upsell solutions have helped hoteliers generate more than $500 million dollars in ancillary revenue worldwide.

“Together, Nor1 and Danat are providing our distinctive city and resort properties with the tools to further delight their valued guests by providing upgrade opportunities to their hotels’ premium inventory,” said Walid Harouni – Hotels Division Director at National Corporation for Tourism and Hotels. He concluded, “Our work with Nor1 has resulted in a significantly increased uptake of higher room products, all booked pre-arrival – meaning not just added revenue, but greater Front Desk staff efficiencies as well.”

Danat Hotels & Resorts interfaces with Nor1’s eStandby system via the SynXis booking engine, and the Nor1/Micros two-way interface. The two-way interface provides still more operational efficiencies, as guest upgrades are automatically awarded, and guest status updated, via the properties’ Property Management System (PMS).

“We are delighted and appreciative to partner with Danat Hotels & Resorts,” said Jeff Down, Nor 1’s Vice President of Business Development for EMEA, based in London. He concluded, “We look forward to continuing to exceed all expectations for the eStandby product, and to expanding our partnership with this distinguished UAE hotel leader in the future.”

In an era of rising customer acquisition costs, shrinking revenues at the hands of third party intermediaries and eroding guest loyalty, hoteliers have sought a solution to allow them to “push” relevant, timely offers and communications, engaging guests in real-time and generating revenue not just during a hotel stay – but throughout their entire trip.

Along with Nor1s recently released eReach product, eStandby provides a solution, allowing hotels to reach guests with personalized offers and recommendations, real-time for each specific traveler, based on variables and derived statistics relative to the unique traveler and her trip.
