Urban Hotels’ latest venture brings a combination of relaxation and sophistication to business travellers in Kathu, the “Iron Ore capital” of the Northern Province, Bloemfontein, South Africa.
The first hotel in the town, Urban Hotel Kathu (UHK) offers top-class accommodation to travellers to Kathu impeccable and professional service, a relaxing atmosphere and beautifully-designed surroundings, after a hard day’s work.

Urban Hotels opened their first hotel in 2008 in Bloemfontein, building a group on the founding principle of offering customers a relaxed, sophisticated haven to return to after a long day’s work and in doing so, enhance the communities in which their hotels are located.

All rooms have air conditioning and DSTV. The hotel serves a continental breakfast in the morning and guests can relax at the U-bar, on the mezzanine, or at the pool after a long day.
The hotel is conveniently located at the corner of Hendrik van Eck and Deben Road, Kathu. It is directly across the road from the mall, a short driving distance from the Sishen and Kolomela Mine and the air strip (where charter flights land).
