Mexican Hotel Collection expands with new boutique hotel property for Adults Only.
CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO – Velas Resorts announces Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos, a new resort and concept in the all inclusive space with the excellence that just earned Grand Velas Los Cabos the Forbes Travel Guide’s prestigious five star rating. Opening in late 2023, the boutique hotel will be Velas Resorts’ third property in Los Cabos. Adults only, it will be a stylish sanctuary, its own world of relaxation, pampering, with the personal service for which Velas Resorts is known. A special perk, guests of Grand Velas Boutique will have access to sister property Grand Velas Los Cabos’ five gourmet dinner restaurants led by top chefs and four bars with no additional charge.
The beachfront Grand Velas Boutique features 79 spacious suites, all over 900 sq. ft. with a private terrace, living area with sofa, walk-in shower and jacuzzi, two queen or one king size bed, daily-stocked premium minibar, and 24-hour personal concierge. A contemporary Mexican design features a neutral palate and Mexican art complemented by pops of metals. In addition to luxurious suites, Grand Velas Boutique offers even more highlights of the Grand Velas’ signature facilities and services, including a two star Michelin consulting chef, expansive wine selection inspired by the proximity to Mexico’s fine wine region and innovative spa treatments inspired by Mexican culture. Onsite culinary offerings include a creative dining experience with casual and fine dining restaurants, poolside delights, tequila and mezcal tastings, and elevated mixology. A wellness center with both gym and spa, indoor or outdoor ocean view event spaces, infinity pool, and private beach area complete the offerings.
Ricardo Elias, principal of Elias and Elias Architects in Guadalajara, who designed the highly acclaimed Grand Velas Resorts in Riviera Maya, Riviera Nayarit and Los Cabos, returned once again as the architectural designer for Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos. Created to exist harmoniously within the rugged topography of its environment, the Grand Velas Boutique steps down to the sea providing unobstructed views of the Sea of Cortez throughout the property. The iconic, sophisticated contemporary design is in the finest Mexican tradition and complements the setting. Mexican touches are found throughout, including a cactus garden. Another visual highlight, the mosaic design of the bottom of the pool in tiles in shades of green, pink and white to look like a garden.
Ernesto Vela, founder and director of Ernesto Vela architects, created spaces within Grand Velas Boutique that invite relaxation with natural materials and a soothing natural palette. Bougainvillea adorn the exterior balconies complementing the hypnotic blue of the pool that leads the eyes to the dramatic Sea of Cortez.
