Virtuoso welcomes L'Apogee Courchevel into its prestigious preview program

France's newest ski resort offers exclusive benefits for Virtuoso travelers.

NEW YORK – International luxury travel network Virtuoso welcomes L’Apogee Courchevel, the newest property from the Oetker Collection, into its illustrious portfolio of Preview properties. The hotel is located on the pristine slopes of the French Alps in the coveted location of Courchevel 1850. Set to open December 11, 2013, the hotel will offer a complimentary third night and value-added amenities exclusively for guests who reserve their stay through a Virtuoso travel advisor. Included in the package are:

  • Room upgrade based on availability
  • Complimentary third nights’ stay when two nights are reserved
  • Complimentary third spa treatment when two are purchased
  • Complimentary full buffet breakfast daily in the restaurant Le Comptoir de L’Apogee
  • Rates start from 900 euros per night (approximately US $1,240 per night) based on a two-night stay, with the third night offered complimentary
  • Rates available on stays occurring December 11-21, 2013.

L’Apogee Courchevel translates to “the highest point” and the hotel seeks to reflect this through its location, service, and accommodations. Set in Le Jardin Alpin, and just minutes from the ski village of Courchevel, the resort offers the most desirable skiing and cultural experience in the region. Featuring one of the largest ski schools in the world, a prime location atop a former Olympic ski jump, and the ability to ski in and out of the club directly, L’Apogee Courchevel will quickly become a landmark on the Courchevel slopes. Other winter activities such as dog-sledding, vertical ice climbing, snowshoeing, and snowboarding are also available.

“We are truly excited to welcome L’Apogee Courchevel into our program,” says Albert Herrera, Virtuoso senior vice president, global product partnerships. “We know this beautiful, chic destination appeals to Virtuoso’s well-heeled travelers, and L’Apogee Courchevel is certain to provide an unforgettable experience. Perhaps one of the resort’s key distinctions, though, is that families will find themselves welcomed here as well, with larger rooms and suites with interconnecting options available and the largest Kids Club in Courchevel.”

Virtuoso guests visiting L’Apogee Courchevel outside of peak season will also receive exclusive benefits:

  • Stay five nights or more and receive a complimentary 50-minute in-Spa massage, for one person
  • Available on stays December 12-20, 2013; January 12 – February 7, 2014; March 15 – April 4, 2014
  • Rates start at 900 Euros per room per night (approximately US $1,240 per night), Half-Board included.

The new hotel has 55 rooms, including 33 suites, a four-bedroom penthouse, and the five-bedroom Chalet L’Amarante. The private chalet features stunning views of the surrounding mountains from all rooms, and a private spa that includes a Jacuzzi, sauna, and double treatment room. A butler and chef are on hand to fulfill any need. Each contemporary room was designed by renowned architect and interior designers Joseph Dirand and India Mahdavi and feature special touches such as steam showers, heated balcony floors, and bespoke local furnishings.

The cuisine at L’Apogee Courchevel is overseen by two-Michelin-star Chef Yannick Franques. Le Comptoir de L’Apogee reflects the best in French brasserie tradition, with dishes centered on aged meats and cheeses sourced from artisan producers and matured on site. A dramatic wall of windows overlooks the impressive mountain range. Two luxurious bar lounges – Le Bar de L’Apogee and the Champagne Lounge – offer guests a place to warm up after a day on the slopes. Head barman Akram Rechidov has created an original menu of cocktails to complement Chef Franques’ lighter menu of creative canapes and other dishes.

L’Apogee Courchevel joins an impressive roster of new hotels accepted into Virtuoso’s Preview Program, including Sofitel Montevideo Casino Carrasco & Spa and Rosewood London. With an exclusive partnership during its first year of operations, L’Apogee Courchevel will benefit from Virtuoso’s networking opportunities, advisor education programs, marketing initiatives and sales support. As a result, clients of Virtuoso travel advisors receive benefits unavailable elsewhere. Preview is part of Virtuoso’s renowned Hotels & Resorts Program, now in its 21st year. The program includes 983 of the world’s best properties in 100 countries, vetted by the network’s luxury travel advisors.
