Westin Hotels & Resorts celebrates debut of signature sky-high sleep experience

Consumers can now sleep well with Westin at home, in-flight or at one of more than 193 hotels around the globe.

STAMFORD, CONN. – Westin Hotels & Resorts is once again changing the game in the travel industry by becoming the first hotel brand to bring its signature sleep experience from the hotel room to the home and now to the skies. Westin is celebrating the debut of Westin Heavenly bedding, designed and manufactured exclusively for Delta, in all of the airline’s BusinessElite cabins throughout the world. Delta passengers can now experience the new Heavenly bedding on all BusinessElite International flights, as well as BusinessElite flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle, and between Atlanta and Honolulu.

“Westin is renowned for providing travelers with the best bed in the business and we are thrilled to now offer consumers the best possible sleep experience in the skies and on the ground – no matter where their travels take them,” said Brian Povinelli, Global Brand Leader for Westin Hotels & Resorts and Le Meridien. “With a history of industry firsts, the Westin Heavenly Bed and a winning approach to well-being, Westin has inspired unwavering guest loyalty and generated tremendous enthusiasm among guests around the world for the brand’s signature suite of Heavenly offerings.”

Westin Heavenly Success Goes Global
As the brand grows meaningfully around the world so does its retail success. Westin recently announced the brand’s signature Heavenly line has exceeded $125 million in retail sales. In line with global growth trends, the Westin brand is experiencing a surge in new hotel openings across Asia Pacific which is also driving the popularity of its Heavenly line in the region. Westin’s retail products have gained such popularity in Asia that each month on average approximately 110 Heavenly Beds are purchased upon checkout across the brand’s 39 properties in that region.

Westin became the first hotel company to sell a signature retail line with the unveiling of the Heavenly Bed in-room catalogue in 2000, setting a new standard for a good night’s sleep. Since the retail program launched 13 years ago, the brand has sold more than half a million Heavenly products including beds, pillows, candles and more. Over the years Westin has expanded its reach through strategic partnerships with major retail companies including Pottery Barn. In December 2011, Westin announced that the signature Heavenly Bed would be available for purchase in the Pottery Barn catalog, website and stores, offering consumers an additional opportunity to experience the brand’s signature sleep experience at home. Now, millions of travelers can experience Westin Heavenly in-flight through the brand’s partnership with Delta airlines.
