Woodward lifestyle and action-sports experience debuts at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya

Woodward Riviera Maya boasts a variety of programs for all ages, catering to all skill levels, as well as endless opportunities for teambuilding activities within groups or meetings.

MIAMI – AIC Hotel Group, the brand reinventing the all-inclusive hotel experience, and Woodward, a leader in the youth culture and action sports movement, have announced the opening of the brand-new Woodward at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. Built for a world-class entertaining and action-filled experience, the partnership merges luxurious tropical accommodations with on-property adventure. The first action-sport facility in Mexico, Woodward Riviera Maya is designed to empower kids to grow physically and emotionally through creative expression in sport, technology, music, art and culture. Woodward Riviera Maya also provides the first ever opportunity to ski and snowboard indoors in the Caribbean.

“This unique initiative and partnership is a testament to the ever-evolving, all-inclusive Hard Rock brand which caters to its varied guest profile. Woodward engages both the young and the young at heart, providing guests of all ages with the opportunity to have a cutting-edge vacation,” said Frank Maduro, VP of Marketing for AIC Hotel Group.

Woodward Riviera Maya boasts a variety of programs for all ages, catering to all skill levels, as well as endless opportunities for teambuilding activities within groups or meetings. With future plans to expand to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana already in the works, the facility sets an entirely new standard of the all-inclusive experience, allowing guests to participate in a variety of program sessions such as skateboarding, BMX, scooter, cheer, dance, tumbling, parkour and free running, in addition to indoor dryland snowboarding and skiing with ParkBoard and ParkSki, which are snowboards and skis with wheels on the bottom.

Woodward Riviera Maya also includes an interactive digital media space where GoPro cameras can be checked out to digitally record participant’s time at the facility. The digital media program also encompasses Hard Rock’s signature Music Lab, which is divided into three unique classes – Jam Band, Spin Session and RockTube – incorporating the brand’s distinct musical namesake into the Woodward experience.

Woodward participants can select their preferred program and expert instructors will lead two hour private or group drop-in sessions. Access to some of Woodward Riviera Maya’s diverse offerings will be available to hotel guests with Resort Credit, while non-guests will be invited to participate for a fee.

The highly anticipated Woodward Riviera Maya features more than 20,000 air conditioned square feet of state-of-the-art equipment, including a complete indoor concrete skatepark, pump tracks, foam pits, trampolines, jump to resi-landing, cheer and tumble floor, a parkour zone and mega ramps. Between activities, guests can take a break at the snack bar or on the viewing promenades where family and friends can gather to watch the action or enjoy live DJ sessions. The outside of the facility will feature the Woodward WreckTangle ninja obstacle challenge (coming in September), designed to ignite spatial awareness, athleticism, agility and amusement while encouraging guests to strategically move through challenging obstacles such as the “Rope Swing to Cargo Crawl” and “Rotating Rings.”

“The all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotels vision aligns well with Woodward’s purpose,” said Jody Churich, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Woodward. “Woodward is much more than a physical location – it’s a culture. We empower kids to grow physically and emotionally. We build kids up by giving them competence in their sport, but also confidence, courage, perseverance and grit to endure life’s challenges, achieve life’s dreams, and create memories that will last a lifetime. This partnership enables more kids to build something that lasts forever through unique action sports experiences in a fun and safe environment.”

“We feel Woodward is such a natural fit for a high energy brand like ours and we’re thrilled to see them debut their high quality experience in Mexico at one of our branded properties,” says Andrea Melotti, vice president of operations – Hotels & Casinos.
