Work on expanding DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island progresses at rapid pace

Decision to expand by 44 % in one year of operation demonstrates high ROI at AMI as a leading tourism investment destination, says MD.

RAS AL KHAIMAH, UAE – Al Marjan Island (AMI) company announced that work on the expansion of DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah into a 701-resort is progressing rapidly. Theunderground construction, including excavations & earthworks, and Basement and substructure has been completed, following the purchase of an additional 253,577 square feet of land to execute an ambitious plan to expand the hotel by 44 percent. The expansion is over 20 percent complete, according to a joint statement by AMI and DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island.

The leading hotel brand said this expansion was in response to the growing interest in (AMI) as an idyllic vacation destination among residents as well as regional and international tourists.

Architect Abdullah Rashed Al Abdooli, Managing Director of AMI Company said: “It is a matter of pride that DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island is undergoing this significant expansion at AMI before completing its first year of operation. This reflects the resort’s vote of confidence which highly motivates us to continue to offer an ideal investment ambience to our business partners and tenants.”

The hotel’s decision to expand by 44 per cent within the first year of operation on the Island demonstrates the high ROI earned by hotel operators based in AMI and strengthens its position as a leading tourism investment destination.

With the new expansion, the leading AMI-based hotel will add 216 rooms to the current capacity of 485 rooms.

With spectacular views of the Arabian Gulf, DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island, which will have capacity of 701 rooms, features a mix of guest rooms and suites, sea-view rooms and villas, all with access to the resort’s private 650-metre beach.

“DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island is newest addition to theHilton portfolio in Ras Al Khaimah, located on the trunk of AMI. The new rooms will offer prime waterfront views. The tourism potential has drawn global attention, and several investors across major service sectors want to be early birds in the AMI stake,” says architect Al Abdooli.

AMI is the first man-made island in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. Extending 4.5 kilometers into the sea, the island covers an area of 2.7 million square meters. Set against the backdrop of the Arabian Peninsula.

Ras Al Khaimah is a destination where tourism is a vital element of the local economy. It has emerged as a leading destination for authentic culture, tradition and adventure.
