WorldHotels Collection welcomes the Modern Times Hotel to portfolio in Switzerland

The Modern Times Hotel in Vevey on Lake Geneva offers travelers a one-of-a-Kind experience dedicated to famed artist Charlie Chaplin.

PHOENIX, Arizona – WorldHotels announced the expansion of its hotel offerings in Switzerland with the addition of the Modern Times Hotel in Vevey on Lake Geneva to the WorldHotels™ Elite Collection.

As travel continues to rebound around the world, we remain committed to bringing even more unique and unforgettable travel experiences to our guests,” said Ron Pohl, President of WorldHotels. “This hotel is truly one of a kind and we are thrilled to welcome the Modern Times Hotel to the WorldHotels portfolio.”

The Modern Times Hotel is the only Swiss hotel dedicated to one of Vevey’s most famous residents, Charlie Chaplin. From the hotel’s name honoring one of Chaplin's classic films, “Modern Times”, to the property décor that highlights Chaplin in many ways – the hotel is a stunning tribute the famous artist’s incredible life and work. The theme of the hotel is visible in all facets from guestroom artwork and furnishings to thoughtful design elements throughout the property.

The Modern Times Hotel is a wonderful addition to the Elite Collection portfolio,” added Wytze Van Den Berg, Vice President International Operations – EMEA, WorldHotels. “The town of Vevey is considered one of the pearls of the Swiss Riviera, offering magnificent views of the Alpine panorama and providing easy access to local vineyards and excursion destinations.”

"We are very happy to welcome this extravagant property to a very special global collection of hotels within our brand family," said Marcus Smola, CEO BWH Hotel Group Central Europe GmbH, based in Eschborn, Germany. "The hotel operator, RIMC Hotels & Resorts, is already a valued partner of BWH Hotel Group® Central Europe so we are looking forward to working together again on this exceptional hotel on Lake Geneva."

Located above the town of Vevey on Lake Geneva in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, the Modern Times Hotel welcomes its guests with 136 rooms and junior suites, all stylishly designed. Guests can enjoy onsite dining at the Times Bar and Lounge as well as the Times Grill, with exquisite wines showcased in a dedicated aging cabinet and wine locker. Guests can also enjoy culinary delights on the large summer terrace, right next to a biotope and spacious garden and park that feels like Provence. A small fitness center is available for sports activities. Six inter-combinable conference rooms provide space for events for up to 180 people at the four-star business hotel.

Sustainability is also a top priority at the Modern Times Hotel: the energy-saving Minergie building gets its energy and hot water from solar panels on its own roof, and it offers several charging stations for electric cars. Meat, dairy, and vegetable products are consistently sourced from producers in the region, and the team places great emphasis on fresh, seasonal cuisine.

"We appreciate BWH Hotel Group as a trustworthy and reliable partner in international marketing and with great sales power. The WorldHotels brand family includes a truly carefully selected portfolio of first-class, very individual and stylish properties. Our decision to integrate Modern Times Hotel into the WorldHotels Elite Collection marks an important step for us in the further development and international strengthening of this special hotel.
