Worldhotels Peakpoints turns one

Hotel group celebrates anniversary by introducing programme enhancements and a special offer.

FRANKFURT, GERMANY – Worldhotels is celebrating the first anniversary of its loyalty programme “Worldhotels Peakpoints“. To mark the occasion, the group has launched a special Peakpoints birthday package and announced the launch of new programme features such as Peakpoints Bag Tagand Peakpoints Emergency Concierge.

Peakpoints Bag Tag is an innovative lost-and-found solution powered by Tag-a-Bag – a provider of next generation bag and luggage tags. By registering to Peakpoints Bag Tag through an iOS or Android App, guests can secure their luggage during their travels. The tag features a QR code which provides the finder of a lost luggage with the owner’s contact details when scanned. What’s more, it notifies the owner via email once their luggage tag was scanned and informs them about the location of their bags. Members receive their first Peakpoints Bag Tag free of charge upon registration at the front desk of any of Worldhotels’ almost 500 hotels worldwide.

With Peakpoints Emergency Concierge, members of Worldhotels’ loyalty programme benefit from Global Emergency Travel Services free of charge for 12 months. The service provides travellers with emergency support during their travels, for example with medical transportation in case of illness, translation services and many more.

“We are proud to celebrate Peakpoints’ first anniversary this month,” says Thomas Griffiths, Worldhotels’ Vice President Global Marketing. “Building a programme of this scale from the ground up is a big commitment of time and resources, and we have already seen a great return on investment. We are excited to add new features to make it even more valuable for our loyal guests.”

To celebrate the anniversary, Worldhotels has also launched a special Peakpoints birthday offer: From 1st to 31stMay, members can book the specially discounted rate at participating Worldhotels and via worldhotels.com/highfive-peakpoints. The offer comes with double Peakpoints, an early check-in and late check-out, free Wi-Fi and a ten per cent discount at all Avis rental car stations worldwide.

Worldhotels Peakpoints was launched on 24th April 2014 as the first “all-virtual’ loyalty programme in the hospitality industry. Members of the programme can follow their transactions, manage their profile and customize their virtual membership card via the Peakpoints website (worldhotels-peakpoints.com) or the App “Travel Guide by Worldhotels”. In addition, they benefit with every eligible stay as they receive two points for every Euro spent on room revenue.
