MIAMI – Global hospitality brand YOTEL has named Gilberto Garcia-Tunon General Manager of YOTEL and YOTELPAD Miami. Garcia-Tunon brings over two decades of hospitality industry experience to this role, where he will oversee operations of the hotel’s newest location in downtown Miami.
“YOTEL is a hospitality experience unlike any other and I’m thrilled to be able to bring my industry experience and local perspective to the brand as we introduce a unique concept to the South Florida Market,” shares Garcia-Tunon. “YOTEL’s ethos is to challenge the hospitality status quo, and I’m excited to lead our Miami crew into the next generation of the YOTEL experience.”
No stranger to the South Florida hotel scene, Garcia-Tunon has previously been general manager of The Raleigh Hotel and Hilton Cabana in Miami Beach, One Bal Harbor Resort & Spa in Bal Harbor. Prior, he served as Director of Operations at Miami Beach’s Canyon Ranch and The Shore Club/Delano, as well as Le Meridian in Sunny Isles. Notably, Garcia-Tunon founded SGT Hospitality Partners, where he’s worked with hospitality clients including Hilfiger Hospitality, The Raleigh Group and The Related Group. Garcia-Tunon earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida International University.
Additionally, Stephen Stoerger has joined the YOTEL/YOTELPAD Miami team as Director of Sales. His previous hospitality experience includes sales roles at the JW Marriott Hotel in Miami, The Mayfair Hotel and Spa, and the SLS BAHA MAR.
Opening on June 1, 2022, the global hospitality brand’s first ever combined YOTEL and YOTELPAD concept at 227 NE 2nd Street In downtown Miami boasts cleverly-designed hotel rooms and sleek apartment-style pads. Garcia-Tunon will spearhead operations at the landmark location, fueled by ultra-modern amenities including two on-site restaurants and bars, a pool deck and state of the art gym.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Tourism Business Administration from the Technical University of Athens and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales.
