The inaugural VRWS Green Conference, scheduled for October 2, 2024, in Porto, aims to advance sustainability in the short-term rental industry through practical learning and networking.
PORTO – VRWS Green conference will take place this October for the first time, offering a half-day event dedicated to promoting sustainability in the short-term rental industry. The event will take place on October 2, 2024, at the Alfândegal do Porto, this event will be a powerful prelude to the Vacation Rental World Summit and set the stage for advancing sustainable practices across the sector.
With up to 100 property managers and owners expected to attend, the VRWS Green Conference will provide a platform for learning, sharing and action. Participants will delve into the environmental challenges facing the STR industry amid growing climate concerns and explore the benefits of adopting sustainable practices. The event will empower attendees with practical tools and strategies to implement impactful changes in their businesses straight away.
Organized by Green VR Events – a coalition of sustainability advocates EnviroRental, Sustonica, and QALIA – the conference will feature a series of presentations, interactive sessions and panel discussions, as well as time to speak to like-minded STR professionals. Speakers include industry sustainability leaders such as Dale Smith, founder and CEO of Host & Stay, Ana Sousa, head of sustainability at Feel Group, and Margarida Ruela, CEO and founder of Casa da Avenida Lisboa, among others. Delegates will have the opportunity to develop a Climate Action Plan tailored to their businesses, with the aid of a virtual guide before, during, and after the event courtesy of Touch Stay and access to ongoing support and resources from EnviroRental post-event.

The timing and location of the event have been strategically chosen to reduce carbon emissions by coinciding with the main Vacation Rental World Summit.
