Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) launches new MICE incentive programme

Bahrain

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) launched a new MICE support scheme, enhancing Bahrain’s appeal as a top MICE destination.

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) successfully hosted an exclusive event last week at Villa Mamas London, a renowned Bahraini restaurant in Sloane Square. The gathering saw the launch of BTEA’s new MICE support scheme as well as highlighting Bahrain’s exceptional offerings as a Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) destination to key agents in the industry.

BTEA’s new MICE incentive programme is designed to boost the growth of the business events sector by providing tailored assistance to both organisers and stakeholders. The renewed initiative offers visa support, airport assistance and cultural activities and tours to enhance the planning and execution of successful events. The support is categorised based on the number of pax as well as the number of nights spent in Bahrain.

By fostering collaboration between government bodies, tourism agencies, and industry professionals, the new MICE scheme aims to elevate the quality and competitiveness of MICE offerings, attract international business travellers, and ultimately drive economic growth in the region.

The evening featured a special address by Dana Al Saad, BTEA’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

Situated in a bay on the southwestern coast of the Arabian Gulf, Bahrain is rapidly emerging as a leading MICE destination, thanks to its state-of-the-art facilities and strategic initiatives. The recent opening of Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB), one of the world’s most advanced event centres, underscores the country’s commitment to becoming a hub for regional and international events. With ten exhibition halls spanning 950,000 square feet, EWB is equipped to host a wide range of events, from large-scale conferences to intimate meetings.

Bahrain’s MICE strategy is aligned with the Bahrain Tourism Strategy 2022-2026, which integrates international marketing, events, and infrastructure development to accelerate tourism growth. Bahrain’s focus on providing a blend of modern sophistication and authentic Arabian hospitality makes it an attractive destination for business travellers.

The MICE event also served as a platform to introduce BTEA’s latest global campaign, “Bahrain. An Island, Limitless.” This campaign showcases Bahrain’s unique blend of Arabian island lifestyle, with an abundance of waterfront, hospitality, entertainment, and heritage experiences, creating limitless opportunities for both leisure and business travellers.

Last week’s event at Villa Mamas London provided a great opportunity for MICE agents to meet BTEA representatives in person, learn about the new MICE support scheme, and explore the limitless opportunities Bahrain has to offer.
