Billback Request is an innovative solution co-created by Voxel and Booking.com that enables automated invoice recovery, allowing Travel Agencies or Travel Management Companies (TMCs) to improve reconciliation processes and recover the VAT.
Voxel, a company specialized in developing innovative technological solutions in B2B payments (between companies) and electronic billing and a leader in the travel sector, has partnered with Booking.com to create Billback Request, a service for automatically recovering invoices in operations with corporate clients.
The product provides an innovative, technological and unique solution in the market so that travel agencies and TMCs can obtain complete invoices automatically.
“We have collaborated with Booking.com in the last three years to develop an innovative solution for travel agencies and TMCs. Having successfully passed the pilot test, the solution has been validated and we are now ready to implement it for all of Booking.com’s B2B & Corporate partners”, explains Héctor Martín, Voxel’s Vice-president of Global Sales.
The pilot was carried out between companies such as Hotelston and Easy Market and more than 26,000 accommodations in 112 different destinations.
How does Billback Request work?
Billback Request is a service capable of automating invoice recovery as well as compensating or recovering VAT and avoiding payment delays and errors. Until now, this problem had never been resolved, since none of the current solutions were capable of ensuring invoices met the legal requirements for VAT recovery.
“This solution is applicable to any Tour Operator or Travel Management Company that needs to recover invoices from hotels, either directly or through Booking.com, another agency or any other booking channel”, explains Martín. “With this solution we have the possibility of solving a classic challenge the industry has been facing for 30 years, especially in the Business Travel segment, in the management of corporate expense notes and international VAT recovery.”

Recently, Voxel has strengthened its value proposition for international VAT recovery in the Business Travel segment by partnering with Israeli company Way2Vat, one of the main suppliers worldwide of automated VAT reclaim and refunding solutions. Voxel will integrate the international VAT recovery capability in the Way2Vat platform and will supplement the current offer of payment solutions between companies and electronic billing in the business travel sector.
