Sold-out Conference another golden milestone, as SITE celebrates 50-year anniversary

The 2023 conference weekend is designed to showcase the best of SITE’s legacy, while also providing plenty of inspiration and opportunities to shape the future of incentive travel.

CHICAGO — The Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) is poised to formally kick off its golden anniversary, with a sold-out, record-breaking Global Conference in the city where SITE began.

The 2023 SITE Global Conference, taking place next week, February 17-20, in New York City, will welcome over 800 delegates for three days of connecting, learning and discovering this hallmark incentive travel destination.

SITE’s NYC roots run deep. SITE was founded there on December 4, 1973, marking the beginning of the only international association dedicated exclusively to incentive travel. It previously held its global conference in New York, with 450 attendees, in 1990.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming so many members of our global SITE community, whether they’ve been with us for decades or are making this their first SITE event,” said SITE CEO Annette Gregg. “We will celebrate 50 years of incentive travel excellence in the company of 30 past presidents of SITE, traveling to New York City from Buenos Aires, Cape Town, New Delhi, Rome, London, Athens, Dublin, Edinburgh, Brussels, Toronto and all over the USA.”

The 2023 conference weekend is designed to showcase the best of SITE’s legacy, while also providing plenty of inspiration and opportunities to shape the future of incentive travel.

“Incentive travel demand came roaring back in 2022 and new opportunities for our sector are exploding,” said Kevin Edmunds, 2023 SITE President. “Corporations know that incentive travel will always drive ROI and hard dollars, but now they see how it can also ignite soft power benefits like better workplace relationships, esprit de corps and company culture. As part of a reward and recognition program, incentive travel can play a transformational role as part of company’s commitments to ESG, DEI and sustainability.”

“We are delighted to welcome the largest-ever gathering of incentive travel professionals to New York City and to celebrate SITE’s 50th anniversary milestone at this year’s Global Conference,” said Fred Dixon, President and CEO of NYC & Company. “There is no better place to reward your top producers and inspire creativity than NYC, with the very best in hotels, Broadway, entertainment, culture, dining, unique experiences and so much more.”

In addition to the keynotes, breakout sessions and other activations planned throughout the weekend, SITE Global Conference will also recognize achievements by its chapters, individual members and visionary incentive travel professionals through its SITE Crystal Awards.
