EUROCAE celebrates 60 years of driving the standard for aviation

As EUROCAE celebrates its 60th anniversary, the organisation looks forward to continuing to play a vital role in the development and promotion of global standards for civil aviation equipment, and to helping to shape the future of the aviation industry.

EUROCAE celebrate its 60th anniversary of dedicated service to the aviation industry. Founded in 1963, EUROCAE is an international non-profit organisation that brings together experts from across the aviation industry to develop and promote consensus-based high-quality standards for civil aviation systems and equipment. These standards support international harmonization and global interoperability and significantly contribute to the safety, efficiency and environmental sustainability of the global aviation system.

Over the past 60 years, EUROCAE has witnessed the development of many industry-leading technologies and accompanied the innovation lifecycle through the timely development of relevant standards. These efforts have helped to ensure that the aviation industry is well-equipped to meet the challenges of the 21st century and beyond. EUROCAE currently has more than 450 members from all over the world, close to 50 active Working Groups, and more than 4.500 experts.

“We are proud to have played a key role in the development of so many technologies that have improved the safety, efficiency and sustainability of aviation throughout these decades and we stand ready to support the aviation community in the future”, said EUROCAE Director General, Anna von Groote. “This success was made possible by our members, partners, governing bodies and the great team at the Secretariat.”

The National Air and Space Museum of Paris at Le Bourget, chosen as the venue for the Anniversary Symposium.

To celebrate its 60th anniversary, EUROCAE is organising a Symposium at the Le Bourget Air and Space Museum of Paris on April 26 and 27, where industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders will gather to discuss the latest developments and future opportunities in the field of civil aviation equipment. The Symposium will feature keynote speakers and panel discussions on a wide range of topics, including the future of the ATM infrastructure and service provision, automation and artificial intelligence (AI), innovation, environment and sustainability, among others.

Located within Europe’s leading business aviation airport Paris-Le Bourget, the National Air and Space Museum of France is one of the world’s finest aviation museums, featuring an incredible collection of more than 400 aircraft. “We couldn’t imagine a better place to celebrate our 60th Anniversary Symposium”, said EUROCAE Director General, Anna von Groote.
