Klaus Bondam is the new Director of the two cruise networks Cruise Baltic and CruiseCopenhagen as of March 15, 2023. He comes with several years of leadership experience, a political background and experience working with sustainability, mobility and bringing cultures and nationalities together.
With effect from March 15, 2023, Klaus Bondam is the new Director of Cruise Baltic and CruiseCopenhagen. Bringing new competences to the two cruise networks and knowledge of international politics, sustainability and culture, he will lead Cruise Baltic and CruiseCopenhagen, as they face the many opportunities and complex questions of the cruise industry.
As Director of the two cruise networks, Klaus Bondam will among other things be responsible for ensuring sustainable growth and securing the market position of Denmark and the entire Baltic Sea region internationally.

Klaus Bondam comes from a recent position as CEO of The Danish Cyclist Federation where he worked within the areas of political advocacy, European cooperation and development of networks. Prior to that, he had a political career, first in Denmark as Mayor of the Technological and Environmental Administration in the City of Copenhagen. Later, he continued his career internationally as Head of Department at the Danish Institute of Culture in Brussels, responsible for the Benelux countries.
Klaus Bondam takes over the position from former Director Claus Bødker who stepped down from his position in August 2022 after more than 8 years.
Cruise Baltic was founded in 2004 and is a B2B network of 31 ports and destinations in the Baltic Sea region aiming to promote the region towards cruise lines and travel agents. The network offers all cruise lines easy access, great service, high standards, and full integration between ports and cities throughout the region.
CruiseCopenhagen is a B2B cruise network in Denmark and was founded in 1992 to develop Denmark’s position as a cruise destination. CruiseCopenhagen consists of more than 50 dedicated partners working within all key sectors of the Danish cruise industry, including 11 cruise ports and destinations. As a result of the strong collaboration among the stakeholders of CruiseCopenhagen, Copenhagen is today Northern Europe’s leading turnaround destination.
