In his new role, Christian Maeder will be tasked with upholding the resort’s service and management philosophy, launching new food and beverage concepts, and maintaining high financial performance.
BIG SKY, MONT. – Montage Big Sky is pleased to announce the appointment of Christian Maeder as hotel manager. Bringing with him more than 25 years of experience in luxury hospitality, Maeder will be responsible for day-to-day operations across all departments at the year-round alpine resort, including oversight of rooms, food & beverage, spa, and recreation. In his new role, he will be tasked with upholding the resort’s service and management philosophy, launching new food and beverage concepts, and maintaining high financial performance.

Maeder joins Montage Big Sky from the flagship resort, Montage Laguna Beach, where he held the same role. Prior to joining Montage Laguna Beach, Maeder was at The Maybourne Beverly Hills, where he served as director of food and beverage. Previously, he held the same role at Four Seasons Resort, The Biltmore Santa Barbara, and The Setai Miami Beach.
Born in Switzerland, Maeder is fluent in English, German, French and Spanish. He received his bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from the Swiss Hotel Management School Lucerne and studied financial management at Cornell University.
