Maria Kristiansen appointed as General Manager at Moxy Tromsø, leveraging her extensive local experience to enhance the northernmost Marriott hotel’s guest experiences and operations.
Maria Kristiansen has been appointed to become the new General Manager at the Moxy Tromsø hotel, the most northly Marriott hotel in the world. Maria is currently the General Manager at the Tromsø Lodge and Camping and brings more than 20 years of experience from management positions within the hotel and tourism industry. Born and raised in Tromsø, Maria has an in-depth knowledge of the local community and a strong network.
“Tromsø as a destination offers an incredible amount of excitement, from the midnight sun and bright evenings, Arctic winter and Northern Lights, to the mountains and the many hiking
opportunities and activities. The hotel has been in operation for one year and has a unique location with a view of the beautiful Kvaløya mountains and a short distance to the airport. I love showcasing our city to visitors from all over the world and am passionate about creating great guest experiences. I am really looking forward to taking on the role of General Manager of this wonderful hotel! The hotel is part of an exciting international chain, and with a continuously growing market, this will beboth challenging and fun,” says Maria Kristiansen, new General Manager at Moxy Tromsø.
Next stop on the journey
Maria Kristiansen is taking over from Jurate Poluniovaite. Jurate successfully opened the Moxy Tromsø property and has since ensured that it has become a well-managed hotel. Before taking on
the role as Pre-Opening General Manager in Tromsø, Jurate worked in multiple roles across many of Core Hospitality’s properties. She is now on her way to a new adventure within the Core
Hospitality organization where she will join the project management team to support, among others, the rebranding of the A Place To hotel in Esbjerg, Denmark.
“Now that Jurate has implemented the Moxy brand at the world’s northernmost Marriott hotel, the time has come for her to pass on the torch to an experienced local General Manager. We are really excited to get Maria on board and to add more local know-how to the hotel.
