15 new ultra fast electric recharging stations at Milan airports

The SEA tender was awarded to Free To X, the Autostrade per l’Italia Group’s start-up company dedicated to sustainable travel.

The awarding of the tender procedure launched in November by SEA – the company managing Milan's Linate and Malpensa airports – for the construction of high-power electric car charging systems, using certified 100% green energy, closed today.

The new infrastructures at Milan's airports will be built by Free To X – an ASPI Group company dedicated to sustainable mobility services. The high-speed, latest-generation charging systems will be installed in four locations outside the airports, to be used by local residents and in locations that facilitate access for people with reduced mobility: one in Milan Linate, one in Milan Malpensa and two in the private aviation terminals at the two airports.

With the assignment of this tender, SEA confirms its efforts to combat climate change – declares Luigi Battuello, Director of Non-Aviation Commercial Department in SEA Milan Airports. Our commitment to improve the sustainability of our airports began more than a decade ago and we are continuing it with new innovative initiatives aimed at improving environmental protection in and around our airports. Today specifically we are taking a major step forward in the electricity sector, launching a new project for passengers and all the people who live and work near our airports.”
