WalletHub compared the travel insurance coverage offered by 92 credit cards from the 10 largest issuers.
With millions of people finalizing summer travel plans in the coming weeks, the personal-finance website WalletHub released its 2017 Travel Insurance Report, which examines the coverage that major credit cards provide for trip interruptions, lost luggage and accidents.
Such coverage is important considering that illness and natural disasters alone interfere with 1 in 6 Americans’ travel plans, while only 22% of those impacted have the necessary insurance.

1. Chase Sapphire Preferred (92.90%) – one of 2017’s Best Overall Travel Credit Cards
2. JP Morgan Reserve & Chase Sapphire Reserve (87.50%)
3. Citi ThankYou Premier (85.75%)
4. C iti Prestige (85.25%)
- 93% of cards provide travel accident insurance, with almost 38% offering more than $300K in coverage.
- 36% of cards offer lost luggage insurance, 25% cover delayed luggage, and 9% cover both.
