2022’s trending most sustainable holiday destinations

Of the 20 locations they explored, the bottom five were Goreme in Turkey, Tulum in Mexico, Sint Maarten in the Caribbean, Paraty in Brazil, and finally Arusha in Tanzania.

With Earth Day coming up on April 22nd DiscoverCars.com explored a number of ranking factors in order to discover which of 2022's trending holiday destinations are the most sustainable. For each location they highlighted the following information:

  • Closest Airport
  • Climate Impact (Round flight from London Heathrow to the destination) KG Co2
  • Hotels With EV Charging Points
  • Number of Vegan Restaurants
  • Number of Nature Spots
  • Pollution Level

DiscoverCars.com took all these factors into account and assigned each location a number out of 100. They also ranked the destinations by how many points they received to help you make the most informed decision for your next trip.

The top three most sustainable holiday destinations were:

  • The Greek island of Rhodes scored 67 points out of 100
  • Ibiza, which is one of the Balearic islands, scored 64 out of 100 points
  • Majorca in the Mediterranean scored 63 out of 100 points
