46% of people won’t be spending money on traveling this holiday season, study says

56% of respondents say they’re not concerned about members of their household contracting COVID-19 this holiday season.

 

COVID-19 affected many of our holiday plans last year but due to the vaccine, quite a bit has returned to normal since then. Because of this, CouponFollow polled 1k people to explore their sentiments toward this holiday season and how they plan to celebrate. Here’s what we found: 

  • 37% of respondents say they weren’t able to meet in person for any holiday-related events last year, and over 1 in 5 are skipping in-person festivities this year as well
  • 46% of respondents are not planning to spend any money on travel this holiday season
  • 52% of respondents say they’re likely to use this holiday season to make up for missing the last holiday season due to COVID-19
  • 56% of respondents say they’re not concerned about members of their household contracting COVID-19 this holiday season
  • People ages 25-40 report being the most concerned about contracting COVID-19 this holiday season.
