A hassle-free airport for trusted passengers could become a reality

VILNIUS – A hassle-free airport, no check-in or security checks for trusted passengers – What sounds like a dream for air passengers around the world could become a reality in the near future, with the use of enhanced technology solutions. In her speech at the Air Convention in Vilnius (Lithuania), Ozge Akinci from Hitit Computer Services demonstrated how state-of-the-art technology could lead to a better passenger experience. As a silver sponsor, Hitit is participating this week in the Air Convention, a large aviation forum including a conference, an exhibition and a trade show. Ozge Akinci from Hitit shared her view on how the future will look in terms of passenger experience. She began by talking about the impact technology has on a traveller’s behaviour and trends. In her presentation she explained the concept of a single identity token; IATA’s One ID, and she concluded with how future airports might look: "With technological innovation and following passengers future trends and behaviours, passengers will be able to walk into the airport without having to stop at the check-in counter or pass through security. A trusted traveller will be able to just walk through an airport and board the plane. They will not need to interact with any airline employee. It will all be hassle-free. At Hitit, we are observing closely and tracking all technological developments in the industry. We continue to deliver on our partner airlines demands, with state-of-the-art technology”, said Hitit’s product manager Ozge Akinci during her speech.
